We arrived!

Hello, Crafters.

We've woken up to snow today! See last photograph!

It's ridiculously early on Saturday morning and I'm all ready to shoot off to Convention.

Although it's only next door - a five minute walk - hubby's going to drive me round.

Fortunately, the misery of yesterday's journey up here is long gone!

We left home with more than enough time to have a comfortable three hour drive up here. It was raining quite heavily most of the way and it was one hold up after another.

We saw one car had broken down and one minor shunt but nothing that we felt would account for such massive delays! Moan over!

We eventually arrived at 7 pm which was when the meal was due to start.

As we weren't the only ones badly affected by the travelling conditions yesterday, the meal was put back half an hour, which gave us a bit of time for a quick wash and to get changed.

We went down to the restaurant and had a great time catching up with everybody - each of us exchanging our traveling horror stories of the day!

Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy the food as much as I did the company.

We called it a night at a sensible time as I knew I had an early start this morning. Now I'm feeling really excited!

Today's card is similar to the Wetlands card I shared the other day.

I was looking to see if I could replicate the layout but using different stamp sets.

I tried using the strip of trees from the Lovely as a Tree Stamp Set but with the main tree stamped on the Love Blossoms Designer Series Designer Paper Stack.

The strip of trees was so wide, there was only a small amount of the large tree showing above it that it looked out of proportion.

I decided to change the strip of trees for a Whisper White band that I'd stamped the oak leaf stamp on, one facing left and the other facing right.

This made my card look a lot more balanced. I stamped the sentiment from the Build a Birthday Stamp Set.

Well, I must make a move. I have 134 swaps to swap and I will share the best of the swaps I receive with you next week, although I will make a video so I can share them all with you if you like to see them all.

I hope you have a really great weekend.

Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

JanB.

  1. Hi Jan, I really do like this card...so simple yet so elegant. I think I might give it a go and see what happens. Would you say this is a masculine card? I need 10 for my team swap next month. Better you then me...the snow that is. LOL...Ann

    1. Hi, Ann. I'm glad you like today's card and yes, I'd say this is a masculine card. The sun came out today and melted the snow! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
