Swap Inspired

Hello, Crafters.

My card today was inspired by one of the swaps I received when I went to the Stampin' Up! OnStage Local Convention in Telford on 16th April, 2016.

Unfortunately, I don't have a photograph of Tina Phipps's swap but it was included in my Swaps video. I'll try and remember to photograph it today and show you tomorrow.

I started my card with a base of Very Vanilla Card Stock, then with a layer of Crumb Cake and a top layer of Very Vanilla.

Using Crumb Cake Ink and the single flower stamp from the Birthday Blossoms Stamp Set, I stamped one flower in each corner and then one half way along the top and bottom edges in the centre, making sure all flowers came off the edge to a greater or lesser extent.

To make the flowers look different I turned my stamp each time I stamped the image.

Then I used Lost Lagoon Ink but stamped off once for each flower which I stamped in each space between the Crumb Cake flowers, again going off the edge.

Using Crumb Cake ink, I stamped the sentiment from the Feel Goods Stamp Set (which will be retiring on 31st May 2016) in the centre.

I love all four sayings in this stamp set - they're brilliant.

One of the changes I made to Tina's design was to decorate the centres of the flowers.

For the Lost Lagoon flowers, I stamped six more flowers, stamping off once as I did previously but this time, I used six small scarps of Very Vanilla because I only wanted to punch the centres out using the half inch circle punch.

Then I painted them all using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen.

Using my Two-way Glue Pen - something else that's retiring! - I adhered these circles to the centres of the Lost Lagoon flowers then turned this layer over so I could trim off the overlaps.

Using Crumb Cake Ink, I stamped six small flowers from the Pictogram Punches Stamp Set (retiring) onto Very Vanilla Card Stock and punched them out using the small flower punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack (also retiring).

I painted them all with my Wink of Stella pen and folded the petals upwards.

Using Tombow, I adhered them to the centres of the stamped Crumb Cake flowers and finished all flowers off with a Pearl in the centre.

I'm really pleased wih my finished card, even though the sentiment isn't totally straight!

I think that's about it for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
