Adding Petite Petals

Hello, Crafters.

I hope you've had fun experimenting with the baby wipe technique I shared with you yesterday.

Yesterday I told you that after I'd finished my Baby Wipe Technique video, I experimented with stamping and punching some Petite Petals flowers for the centres of my five Flower Shop flowers. (I've included the link to my video in case you missed it yesterday).

I explained that the flowers didn't look too busy as I'd said in the video I thought they would and that I'd share the card I made with you soon. Soon came sooner than I thought it would - it's today! LOL!

Not only can you see what the flowers look like with the Petite Petal flowers in the centres but also a different card you can make as well as, or instead of, the design I showed in my video.

 

It's not often that I choose an accent colour that doesn't feature in my card images but I have for this card. I chose Blackberry Bliss Card Stock and a matching design from the 2014 -2016 InColour Designer Series Paper (DSP) Stack.

 

I started my card with a base of Whisper White, with a layer of Blackberry Bliss and a top layer of Whisper White.

Using Sahara Sand Ink, stamped off once, and the Timeless Textures Stamp Set, I stamped a light background on the top layer.

Then I attached a strip of the DSP across this layer towards the top and adhered it to the Blackberry Bliss and then to the card base, using Tombow for each layer.

Using Blackerry Bliss Ink, I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Sassy Salutations Stamp Set (which is retiring on 31st May 2016 - so sad to see this go!).

I used my baby wipe ink pad I'd made the previous day and stamped three flowers from the Flower Shop Stamp Set and then three from the Petite Petals Stamp Set. I punched them out using the Pansy Punch and the Petite Petals Punch, respectively.

I curled the petals up on all six flowers, adhered each pair together and then onto the DSP strip, using Tombow each time. I finished the flowers off with a Pearl in the centre of each.

I was really pleased how this card turned out, so there are now two options for creating the flowers with the baby wipe technique for you to try!
