Look Who's Turning

Hello, Crafters.

How quickly a week goes! I can't believe it's the weekend again already!

I had a really successful day yesterday, even though the video I made took three takes!

This morning I'm doing a private class and this afternoon I doing the class I should have done last weekend when my daughter was taken ill. (I'm pleased to say she's fine and there's been no sign of a recurrence).

Today's card is something I've wanted to do for ages i.e. use the chick stamp for a baby bird chick rather than a cute yellow Easter chick.

The chick comes from the Honeycomb Happiness Stamp Set which is currently available as a free product during Sale-A-Bration which ends on 31st March 2016.

I've used some artistic licence and given the chick a slight red breast to make him a baby robin chick!

I say artistic licence because I imagine baby robins don't have red breasts!

I started my card with a Whisper White Cardstock base with a layer of Tempting Turquoise and a top layer of Whisper White.

I stamped the chick onto the top layer using Crumb Cake ink.

Then I stamped a balloon, also in Crumb Cake Ink, onto the baby robin so it looked as if he's holding it with his wing!

Then I stamped the chick again but this time onto the Crumb Cake Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper (DSP).

I cut him out, except for his feet, and adhered him with Tombow directly onto the one stamped on the top layer.

I coloured his mouth and feet using the Crumb Cake Marker Pen.

Then I used my Cherry Cobbler Dauber and gently rubbed in a circular movement round his chest, just enough to give a hint of a red breast.

I stamped the balloon onto a piece of Tempting Turquoise Perfectly Artistic DSP and cut it out. I adhered it using Tombow, on top of the balloon stamped on the top layer.

I used the Tempting Turquoise Marker Pen to colour in the bow.

I used both sentiments and the number from the Number of Years Stamp Set.

I stamped the number straight onto the top layer but wasn't very happy with it.

I stamped it again on a scrap of Whisper White and die cut it using the Large Numbers Framelits Dies.

I adhered it on top of the number on the card layer.

The smiley face - which was covering a Tempting Turquoise Ink dot - and the party hat - which I cut free hand - both come from the Hello Stamp set and is currently available as a free product during Sale-A-Bration.

PLEASE NOTE that the Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper, the Hello Stamp Set and the Sky Is The Limit Stamp Set, are only available until 15th February 2016!

So if you would like them, please make sure you place your order with your demonstrator before it's too late.

That's about it for today. I hope you have a fabulous weekend. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

JanB.
