Hello, Crafters.
Next weekend, 26th-27th February, I shall be on the Stampin' Up! stand at the Make It Show in Farnborough.
There are five of us altogether and each day, while Natalie is running pre-booked classes, Pip, Fiona, Jane and I will each have 1.5 hours on the make-n-take table and also 1.5 hours doing demos - the rest of the time we spend chatting with the visitors.
We all choose which product we'd like to focus on and my choice is the Berry Basket.
Therefore, everyday starting yesterday, I'm making a different basket that I can have on display.
I'll share these baskets here first, with you starting on Friday 26th - so watch this space!
To make today's card I've used die cuts for the sentiment.
The HAPPY was from the Christmas Greetings Thinlits Dies, which is now retired, but it's now available in the Hello You Thinlits (many thanks for pointing that out, Hannah McCurley ☺). The BIRTHDAY! is from Little Letters Thinlits Dies and the exclamation mark is from the Little Numbers Thinlits Dies.
I started my card with a base of Whisper White Cardstock with a layer of Blackberry Bliss.
The top layer is 50% Whisper White and 50% Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper (DSP) - this last product is a free gift available during Sale-A-Bration which goes on to 31st March 2016.
To decide how to position the die cuts, I drew a feint pencil mark about a quarter of an inch up from the bottom of the Whisper White top layer.
Using a Two-way Glue Pen, I adhered the BIRTHDAY! along this line just leaving an absolute tad between each letter.
Then I adhered the Happy in the remaining space to make it look balanced. I painted over all the die cuts using my Clear Wink of Stella Pen.
I adhered the top two layers together using Tombow and wrapped some Blackberry Bliss ribbon around the centre.
Then I adhered it to the card base. I tied a small bow and attached it onto the ribbon with some Glue Dots.
Using Lost Lagoon Ink and Whisper White Cardstock, I stamped three small flowers from Pictogram Punches Stamp Set, one large flower from the Flower Shop Stamp Set and one flower from Petite Petals Stamp Set.
I punched them all out using the corresponding punch.
I adhered all the flowers with Tombow and added a Rhinestone into the centre of each.
Although it's quite a dark colour, summer is coming!
Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
Looking forward to seeing you on Friday Jan, looking forward to seeing the berry basket as I don't have it....yet. Sarah
