Botanical Blooms

Hello, Crafters.

I have now started playing with the Botanical Blooms Stamp Set and the co-ordinating Botanical Builder Framelits Dies.

I must be honest and say that the Botanical Gardens has never really appealed to me! I just didn't find the orangy/yellow jungle-type theme inspiring.

Having said that, I have always liked the long leafy die that you can create fancy edges with and also the flower die that die cuts the inner petals, as seen in the second photograph.

I also love the Bird of Paradise design sheet in the Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper (DSP).

My feelings changed when I saw other demonstrators using non-orangy/yellow colours. So I chose Pink Pirouette and Mint Macaroon for my first Batanical Gardens card!
Now the creative juices are flowing.

To make today's card, I started with a base of Whisper White Cardstock, followed by a layer of Pink Pirouette and then a layer of Whisper White.

The top layer is the little star designed sheet in the Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Pack, which is available as a free product in the Sale-A-Bration catalogue (available until 31st March 2016. 

I took a strip of Mint Macaroon Cardstock and, using Mint Macaroon Ink, I stamped the shorter finger-like leaf all over, totally randomly. I adhered this using Tombow about two fifths of the way down the front of the card. 

Using Pink Pirouette Cardstock, I die cut one of the flowers that has the die cut centre, two of the solid flowers and two of the smaller solid flowers.

Using Mint Macaroon Cardstock, I die cut one of the large flower centres  (stamens?) and two of the round ones that resemble Catherine Wheels!

On the large flower, I adhered the centre with a Dimensional and also adhered the flower to the card front with a Dimensional.

On the other two flowers,  I used a Dimensional between the two pink layers and also to adhere them to the card front. 
The green centre I adhered with Tombow.
I finished each flower off with a Metal Rimmed Pearl.

I chose the sentiment from the Picture Perfect Stamp Set and stamped it in Mint Macaroon Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock. I punched it out using the Washi Tape Punch.

I had some of the stamped Mint Macaroon Cardstock leftover from my centre strip. I cut it down to size and used it as a mat for the sentiment, which I adhered with Dimensionals and then glued the mat to the card front using Tombow.

That's about it for today. I'm off to work now, so until tomorrow, happy crafting.
