I had another very successful day in my studio yesterday! For the first time in ages, I made three videos in one day!
I think I have always used the image of a tree or a solitary flower when I've created sympathy cards, so this card is really something quite different for me.
The reason I decided to make the change is that I love this quote from the Bible. It's one of the stamps that's in the Rose Wonder Stamp Set.
I used the Hardwood Stamp for the background of the top layer. The ink I used was Crumb Cake but I stamped off once because I wanted the wood grain to be extremely pale - it came out beautifully!
I stamped the With Sympathy image directly onto the wood grain background with Crumb Cake Ink. I also stamped the Bible quote using Crumb Cake Ink on Whisper White Cardstock.
Using the Ovals Collections Framelits, I die cut the quote using no. 4 die and also a Crumb Cake oval using the no. 5 die. I used the retired Paper Piercing Pack that had the ovals on and pierced both pieces of oval cardstock. On the one with the Bible quote on it, I missed the holes that would have meant that I was stamping right through the writing.
3 7/8" long. I'm not sure if it's obvious from the photographs or not, but I frayed both ends of the ribbon. I pulled out about six strands each end but it was enough to give the effect I was after.
It took me absolutely ages to tie up the ends of the cotton thread on each of the four corners of the Burlap. I wanted to make sure the Burlap didn't start disintegrating.
I made extra sure the threads weren't going to come undone by putting Tombow on the back of the thread when I was applying it to the Burlap.
When hubby arrived home this evening, he had a present for me ..................a Black & Decker Cordless Screwdriver!! No more blistered hands! Just in time, too............my other two units are due to arrive on Wednesday! YAY!
Well I think that's about it for today! Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
