Hello, Crafters.
I've just uploaded today's video called JanB Hybrid Poinsettia.
When I posted the original to my blog, I joked that it's the JanB Hybrid Poinsettia because I'd used artistic licence with the (rather large) amount of petals I'd used! LOL!!
This poinsettia table decoration is the second, and far superior, design.
See photograph no. 3 for a reminder of what mark 1 looked like!
I wasn't happy with the first design because I found the petals were becoming very unstable.
There were two petals in particular that kept falling out altogether.
In the video they are stuck in place very firmly.............which suggests I eventually lost my patience with them and really rammed them into position!!
In the first version I wasn't happy with the Daffodil Centre once I saw it as a golf ball because of the embossed pattern on the cardstock.
I decided I needed a far more realistic and stable design for my video and mark 2 was born.
I'm so pleased I went for the re-design as I'm really pleased with the finished result.
It's a lot more stable and there is a terrific amount of dimension to it as well.
The amount of yellow in the centre is a lot better, too.
I also want to share my Mum's birthday card with you - photograph no. 4. I based it on the Christmas card I posted here on 24th August - photograph no 5.
I used Wisteria Wonder and Garden Green markers to colour in the flowers which are from the Timeless Love Stamp Set.
The small flowers round the centre are from Petite Petals and punched out with the co-ordinating punch.
The round circle with dots on it and the sentiment with the green stars are both from a new stamp set that's going to be available in the new Spring catalogue as from 5th January 2016 called You're So Lovely.
The letters I used for MUM are from a non-Stampin' Up! product.
I've just spoken to my Mum - she's 92 and lives in a care home in Australia, and she was absolutely thrilled with it.
Happy Sunday to you. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
Your Mum's card is just spectacular ... gorgeous! gorgeous! I'm commenting on it separately, because it deserves it ... comment on the video tutorial to follow! : -)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Geraldine. I surprised myself with it because I knew it as a Christmas card! Happy crafting, JanB. ☺
