Hello Crafters.
I
was so pleased with yesterday's project except the card stock split on
about 3/4" on one of the edges and I really not sure why.
I suspect I
either scored it too hard or not hard enough. Unfortunately, because I was working
yesterday I didn't have time to make a second one.
I
used the Gift Bag Score Board to create this bag and worked with the
grooves going horizontally.
I always do the horizontal score line all
the way across the box before I start.
I knew immediately I had pressed
too hard. You know that sound of paper splitting??
I cut my Corrugated
Paper down from 12" to 11" so I was able to cut off the damaged piece
and start again.
I was very gentle with my scoring this time and followed
through with the instructions for the bag.
It was when I was folding and
gently burnishing the folds that the cracking occurred. You can see the splitting in the last two photographs.
I will have
another attempt to find out where I went wrong.
The reason I'm convinced
it's something I've done wrong is that I've seen a photograph somewhere
of a Square Pillow Box made with the Corrugated Paper and the folds all
looked perfect.
To
decorate my bag, I heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder one of the
trees from the Peaceful Pines Stamp Set and die cut it using the Perfect
Pines Thinlits.
I did a layer of gold foil using the template I showed
how to make in my video Glimmer Christmas Tree. I adhered the two
together using Tombow and then adhered to the gift bag with Dimensionals.
I
used our gorgeous Gold Satin Ribbon to tie the bag closed. Using Gold Embossing Powder, I heat
embossed two stamps from the Merry
Everything Stamp Set.
The one that isn't visible is the To, From stamp
which I've adhered to the back of the tag you can see.
I punched the two
tags out using the Tag Label Punch and used my 1/8" Handheld Circle
Punch to make a hole to thread the Gold Cording through.
Please note that the last date for orders for Christmas
