Birthday Blooms Shadow Box

Hello, Crafters.

My goodness, we have such amazingly strong winds here today! Fortunately, we haven't been affected by the awful flooding that's going on in the UK at the moment. I pray for all those people whose homes have been flooded - it must be totally heart-breaking.

On a happier note, earlier this morning I posted my Birthday Blooms Shadow Box Card video.

It was inspired by one of the swaps I received when I attended the Stampin' Up! OnStage Convention in Brussels in November. The swap I received was made by Delphine Lopez - many thanks Delphine your swap is gorgeous.

The first three photographs today show the card I made for the video.

The first shadow box card I made as a Valentine card - see the fourth photograph. I used Cherry Cobbler Card Stock for the back and the front.

I die cut the heart using the Bloomin' Heart Thinlits Die (available from 05.01.16) and the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.

Then I die cut the heart from the front sheet using one of the dies from our retired Hearts Collection Framelets dies and pierced around the edge using another retired product, the Paper Piecing set (I can't remember the name of the set).

I stamped the two little flowers on the front using Cherry Cobbler Ink and a stamp from the Bloomin' Love Stamp Set (also available from 05.01.16). I added a tiny Pearl inside each flower.

The sentiment was heat embossed with White Embossing Powder onto Cherry Cobbler Card Stock and punched out using the Washi Tape Punch. I adhered it onto the heart using Dimensionals.

My second card was made in the same way except I die cut the aperture using our Circles Collection Framelit Dies no. 7 - see fifth photograph (the card in the video I used die no 6).

Unfortunately, there isn't a template for paper-piercing this die set so I drew "stitches" around the edge using the my Cherry Cobbler Marker Pen.

Using the Circle die allowed me room to stamp in all four corners - looks like I've lost one of the Pearls!!

My third card is the one I decided to base my video on. I used Lost Lagoon Card Stock, Vellum and the Birthday Blooms Stamp Set.

I made one card where I'd stamped flowers using Lost Lagoon Ink all over the Lost Lagoon Card Stock and I also added a white frame around the circle. I decided it all made the card look too fussy so left them off my final card.

I seem to have started making "fancy fold" cards since I made the Magic Elf card, so I may carry on doing this for a little while..............I'll see how things go!
