Hello, Crafters.
Yesterday was a big day for Stampin' Up! demonstrators! We had it confirmed what our new titles are in the new global plan and I'm thrilled to say that I'm Silver!
My next step is to Silver Elite and it's a big one, even though I have already met two out of the three criteria!
Don't hold your breath waiting for me to take this next step - I think it's going to be quite a wait - but I'm determined and I'll get there - just watch this space!
I'd like to take this opportunity to say a very big THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me, one way or another, during my fantastic journey with Stampin' Up!
For this week's challenge I decided to use our Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum which comes in packs of 9 sheets, 12"x12" and 3 sheets each of 3 designs: silver snowflakes, red stripes and green Christmas trees.
After showing you my non-Christmas Curvy Keepsake boxes yesterday, they were very much to the front of my mind, and I wondered if I could make the boxes with the vellum.
I'm really pleased to say yes you can, with the silver and the red designs, easily. Using the green leaves you with two sides with the trees horizontal rather than vertical!
I decorated my red boxes using the Red Foil Sheets and the Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies.
I used some retired Real Red Satin Ribbon which is currently on offer for £2.49 on the UK Clearance Rack. If you're in one of the other Stampin' Up! markets, it's worth checking availability on your Clearance Rack - you might strike lucky!
I ran out of time yesterday and didn't get round to decorating the silver snowflake boxes although I think they still look gorgeous naked! If I do decide to decorate them, which I probably will, I'll show you once they're done!
Obviously, these boxes are quite delicate but they are so beautiful, I think that's a minor problem! They would look absolutely super as favour boxes on the Christmas dinner table. Tying the ribbon round the handle does make sure the box stays closed which isn't normally an issue if they're made with card stock.
That's it for today, so until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
