This is the fourth card in my Using Embossing Folders Challenge. I'm really pleased how this card came out.
In the absence of knowing if this technique has a name or not, I'm calling it Split Embossing.
I measured the top Whisper White cardstock layer 1.5" down on both sides, at the top and the bottom.
Then I lined one end up in the Arrows Embossing folder as far as the marks.
I placed it between two cutting mats making sure the top mat didn't come past the top edge of the embossing folder and ran it through the Big Shot.
I repeated the process for the other end of the cardstock.
Then I put this layer, face down on my score board and lined the end of the embossing up with one of the scoring grooves and scored to the bottom.
I repeated this for the other end. This gives the front side a beautifully finished look.
I added the sentiment from the For the New Two Stamp Set.
I stamped the three flowers using the Pictogram Punches Stamp Set and punched them out with the flower punch for the Itty Bitty Accent Punch Pack.
I made the second card in the same way as previously but put some Designer Series Paper from the Adventure Bound Paper Stack (now retired) across the end of the embossing.
I used the same DSP to layer the sentiment, using the Lots of Labels Framelits.
I stamped the sentiment from the Feel Goods Stamp Set using Crumb Cake Ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.
I put tiny pearls at the ends of all the swirls of the writing.
I used more DSP to stamp the flowers from the Flower Shop and Petite Petals Stamp sets and punched them out with the corresponding punches.
I love this style of embossing and will be using it in my card making lessons at the end o the month!
I have just one more card to go with this challenge and will then be looking for a new challenge for next week.
Is there a subject you'd like to nominate as a challenge for me?
Please leave your suggestion in the comments box below.
Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
