Week 6 Challenge - Card No. 3

Hello, Crafters.

This is the third card in my Using Embossing Folders challenge.

I don't know if this technique has a name or not, I'm just going to call it Topper Embossing!

I started by stamping the butterfly using the Watercolour Wings Stamp Set and die cut it using the Bold Butterfly Framelits Die.

I adhered the butterfly to the top layer of Whisper White cardstock using glue stick.

I then embossed it using the Decorative Dots Embossing folder.

I have to admit that I'm not particularly keen on this embossing folder but it does what I need it to do.

If you look closely at the second photograph, you can see that this is a "topper" that has been embossed onto the card, rather than a butterfly that has been stamped directly onto the cardstock and then embossed.

I was really pleased with how I created the sentiment "flower" which is very appropriate for a butterfly card.

I decided to make another card the same but to adhere the sentiment before embossing.

Photograph 4 shows what the sentiment looked like after embossing and I definitely didn't like the look!

To remedy this, I stamped another sentiment and punched it out with my 1.5" circle punch. Then I adhered it into the centre of the "flower".

Much better!
I will be posting several more photographs of these three cards on my Facebook page so you can see completed versions of all three cards if you'd like to. www.facebook.com/JanBCards.

In the meantime, until tomorrow and card 4, happy crafting!

JanB.

Ooops! I didn't mean to click on Publish - oh well, never mind! Barring another mistake, my next post will be on Friday morning! LOL! Happy crafting. JanB
