Tropical Escape Diamond-Shaped Florals

Hello, Crafters.

I recently made the comment that I have been seeing quite a few
cards where crafters have used Designer Series Paper (DSP) as
a central part of their card design. The cards have looked great,
so I decided to have another go with the idea myself.
It's not surprising that the card designs have been so good, given the
quality, colour and designs of Stampin' Up! DSP, and of course, the
crafters' skills.! One set of DSP that I fell in love with as soon
as I saw it, is the Tropical Escape 6" x 6" DSP.

I particularly love the colour scheme; the colours are Basic Black,
Blushing Bride, Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce, and Whisper
White i.e. pink, green, and white - with just a hint of black!
I had three ways in my mind how I wanted to make this card,  but I ran
out off time. Maybe today I'll get time to make one of my two other
ideas, and that is a masculine card. The big challenge is to
find a substitute for the flowers I've used!
At the moment, I've drawn a blank in my mind's eye, but I have all day
to think about it! To choose which designs I wanted to use for today's
card, I went though the paper pack and laid one of each design face up.

When I did the rounds a second time, I flipped the sheet over so I could
see both sides of each design! I picked out three patterned designs - the
three I've used for today's diamonds - then I picked out three
 all-pink and white designs/patterns.

As I was working my way through making my choices, I saw
designs I thought would be ideal for masculine cards, and
that's what I'd like to try today! For the green branches and pink
flowers for today's card, I used the same stamp set, Time For Tea,
I used for the Cascade Card that I featured on last Sunday's video.

For today's card, I stamped onto Granny Apple Green Cardstock (CS) for
the branches and Blushing Bride CS for the flowers. Originally I stamped,
coloured and die-cut on Whisper White CS, but when I placed them on
the floral diamond-shapes, they almost disappeared into the background!

The results I achieved by using coloured CS was amazing! This change
of plan worked exceptionally well because I was able to use the images
on Whisper White CS as decoration inside the card!
I chose the HAPPY BIRTHDAY sentiment from the Treat Time Stamp
Set because, if I masked off the decoration above and below the
sentiment, I was left with a sentiment that fitted into the next size
down Stitched Shapes Square Framelits die! What a result!
I think that's about it for today! I can't believe that we're almost at the June already! Still at least here in the UK, we're enjoing a heatwave that should last until the weekend. Until tomorrowm,  happy crafting.
