Hello, Crafters.
When I attended Natalie's training on Saturday, she gave my a beautiful
bouquet of flowers and a congratulations card for my two
achievements last week.
I also received a Congratulations card from Paula! She
had used a design from the Garden Impressions Designer Series
Paper (DSP) Stack, and very little else; the card was absolutely gorgeous!
Recently, I have been seeing more and more cards like this, so I decided
to use the same design for my card today. I cut the design so that
the cluster of three flowers sat more or less in the centre of my card,
and approximately a third of the way up. I took another sheet and cut
out two of the flowers as individuals, and curled the petals upwards.
I didn't want the cut flowers to disappear on the DSP, so I painted them
with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen. I decided to adhere them using
Dimensionals, to give some space between the upper and lower
flowers, and then twisted them to offset the petals of both flowers!
I think this worked well and I finished the flowers with a Gold
Faceted Gem in the centre. I adhered the DSP to a Pacific Point
layer and tied a piece of 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon in Whisper
White around the bottom half.
I find it very easy to tie beautiful bows with this ribbon, so much
so that I left the bow unusually big for me with long tails that came off
the bottom of the card by a very long margin!
I stamped Happy Birthday, from the Botanical Bliss Stamp Set,
in Pacific Point Ink, and die cut it using the smallest straight
cut oval die, and layered it onto a scalloped oval - both dies from
the Layering Ovals Dies Framelits - in Pacific Point.
It's very unusual for me to make a simple card,
but I'm really pleased how this one has turned out!
I forgot to take a photograph of Paula's card, but I'll remedy that
