Yesterday morning I went to the hairdressers to get my hair done ready for the weekend, and this morning I'm off to get my nails done!
It isn't only stamp sets I buy and don't get round to using...............it's also embellishments!
Yesterday I decided to have a play with the Mini Embroidery Hoops that are in the Spring/Summer Catalogue (page 14).
The size of the hoops co-ordinate with the A Happy Day Stamp Set, as well as the two New Scallop Circle Punches - 1 1/8" and 1 3/8".
I have made mine a little bit differently, in as much I have tied mine to the smallest Mini Embroidery Hoop, with the little deer suspended on a piece of Linen Thread.
Without recording a video, the only way I could think of photographing the hoop hanging lose is by tilting the card forward - see the last photograph.
I used three stamp sets for this card:-
A Good Day for the deer
Touches of Textures for the background behind the deer and behind the sentiment
Confetti Celebration for the sentiment.
I also used five different punches!
I used::
Banner triple punch to fishtail the end of the banner
1" circle punch for the deer
1 1/8" Scallop Circle Punch to layer the deer onto
Classic Label Punch for the sentiment, which I stamped with Basic Black Archival Ink.
The colour scheme of my card is Berry Burst, and I chose the brick wall design from the Painted with Love Designer Series Paper (DSP).
For the top Whisper White layer, I dry-embossed it using the Brick Wall Embossing Folder but I didn't like the look - it looked crowded.
I dry-embossed another sheet, but this time I used the Simple Stripes Embossing Folder, from the Spring/Summer Catalogue, with the stripes going horizontally.
Inside the card I adhered a layer of Whisper White CS, on a layer of Berry Burst CS.
When I first started my card, I was going to use a die cut of the deer, but it was too big for my needs, so I adhered it inside the card instead.

What a sweet card!! I haven't used the brick side of the painted with love DOS because I guess I just couldn't think of what to do with it. I really like how you used it, Jan. Same with the wooden hoops which I'm going to try to get. In all, just a very beautiful card!! Thank you for sharing. God bless and have a beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteHi, Jan. I found using the hoops a bigger challenge than the DSP. I'm also playing with the other wooden elements we have - definitely somethng different to work with! God bless you too, Jan. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
DeleteWhat a great idea Jan, I tend not to purchase the embellishments (1) because I am not so keen on these on cards and (2) when I do I forget I even have them to use! LOL
ReplyDeleteHi, Lorraine. I know exactly what you mean! When I first saw them, I thought it was a strange idea, but I like a challenge and decided to go for it! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
