Today's video features what may be a new technique, which I'm calling Bubbled Vellum.
I stumbled across this when I was working on my Sparkle Stained Glass video, and have never seen it before.
A demo friend of mine said a little while ago, there's nothing that's actually new in card making, which I think is very likely to be true.
During the video, I promised to make two cards with the two remaining images, and share them here.
The first one is the butterfly on the Rose Red card which was created yesterday morning.
The flower on the Rose Red card was the second one which is the one I made during the video, but wasn't dry enough to make a card with until yesterday evening.
I love how these Bubbled Vellum images turn out but don't have a favourite!
I love the flower for it's simple appeal, but I also love the butterflfly because of the combination of colour.
I'll be very interested to hear your feedback!
I wish you a very happy Sunday, and until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
Good morning Jan, I enjoyed your video this morning and your card is beautiful as usual. Glossy Accents which is not Stampin Up does the same results as the fine tip glue from Stampin Up! I also just saw Saturdays' card and love, love, love it! I absolutely love that basket weave folder. Keep up the beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteHi, Lawanda. I believe you're right about Glossy Accents. We used to have a similar product called Crystal Effects. I would like to come up with another idea for the Embroidery Hoops as I think it's something so cutely different! ☺ Happy crafting. JanB.
DeleteWonderful card, and equally wonderful a video, Jan. I've don't remember seeing anyone do this technique personally, but I have done it myself in the past with balloons on kiddies card for the shine and puffiness and I loved the look then ... it's really lovely done on the flower and butterfly images as you have done. Thanks ever so much for this & wearing your Rose Red colour-coordinated top too! I have noted that you have done this in the past, whether intentionally or not, and have thought, 'well, there's a nice added touch!' ... but probably haven't mentioned it before! TFS
ReplyDeleteHi, Geraldine. Yes, me too! I've often done it on hearts, as well, and when I first did it on the Vellum I expected the same effect. I was so surprised when it "bubbled" up! No, I never deliberately colour-coordinate my sleeves, but I am careful what sleeves I wear on the day I make videos! LOL! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
