Tailored Tag Mosaic

Yesterday I was working on my swaps for OnStage in Telford next weekend - thirty-nine down, sixty-one to go, or something like that! 

All I can say about my swaps at the moment is that the Stamparatus has really come into it's own!

I've had the idea for today's card in my head for quite a little while, and with three or four different options.

Yesterday I wasn't sure which option to go for, and eventually chose the wedding theme. 

I sorted out the three different gold designs from the Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP), and punched out four shapes of each. 

After positioning the base cardstock (CS) in the centre of my Grid Paper, I adhered the first shape as close to the centre as I could. 

After I had decided where the second shape should go, all the rest of the shapes had a right and wrong way to go! 

When I reached the edges of the base CS, I allowed the ends of each shape to hang over the edge of the base, and trimmed them all at the same time when I'd finished them.

Overall I felt the sheet looked "unfinished", so I added the four thin strips of Gold Foil around the edges; this was an idea I'd used a couple of years ago on another card that was a mosaic style. 

I felt my card needed two images, or one sentiment and an image, so I went through my Card Reference File for inspiration.  

What I found wasn't something I had considered i.e. two complementary sentiments. They're from the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set which includes two or three different pairs of sentiments - I think this is definitely a set that's seriously overlooked!

To keep the gold and cream colour sheme going, I heat embossed both the sentiments on separate pieces of Very Vanilla Cardstock (CS) using Gold Embossing Powder. 

After I had punched the two sentiments out using the Tailored Tag Punch, I punched out four halves of tags in Gold Foil to line the back of the sentiments. 

Using Tombow, I glued one gold half tag at the top and the bottom of each sentiment; this helps them stand out from the mosaic layer. 

I adhered the mosaic layer to a layer of Gold Foil, and then onto a Very Vanilla CS card base. 

Inside the card I added a layer of Gold Foil, and a layer of Very Vanilla CS.

Using Dimensionals I adhered the two sentiments to the card front, and finished off by adding two large Basic Pearls other end of the sentiment, and a row of three in the middle of the centre shape.

I'm happy how this card out and look forward to trying out other variations!
