Hello, Crafters.
I hope you've had a great weekend.
Today's
card is really quite straight-forward, it's just time-consuming because
of the fussy cutting!
Oh, if only this set had some co-ordinating
dies!
My
original plan was to use just one bouquet from the Lots of Lavender Stamp Set, which is available free as a Sale-a-bration gift for a qualifying order of €60/£45.
Once I had the first one ready, I had an idea but I needed two bouquets, so I had to start again and create a second one!
I used Pool Party and Wild Wasabi Marker Pens for colouring, and achieved a little bit of shading by
painting each individual image over once, and then going back and
drawing the brush across half of each petal a couple of times.
With the
leaves I drew the brush around the outside edge of each of them a couple
of times.
To create my card I
started with a card base of Whisper White Cardstock (CS), a layer of
Silver Foil, and a top layer of the silver stripe design from the
Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper (DSP).
This is also available free as a Sale-a-bration gift on a qualifying order of €60/£45.
There was no particular
reason why I did this, but today I decided to adhere these layers
together using Tear & Tape!
It was how I always used to do it, and I'd
developed my own way of doing it so I had success i.e. straight layers,
every time!
It was pleasing to know I could still do it that way.
Unfortunately, it's not feasible to do it on videos for two reasons.
Firstly it's more time-consuming than using Tombow, and secondly, I need to get
my head over my work to make sure I get it lined up properly before
adhering the layers that my head would be fully under the camera - not a
good idea!
I
chose the sentiment from the Beautiful Day Stamp Set and heat embossed
it using Silver Embossing Powder.
I adhered it about an inch up from the
bottom of the DSP, and in the centre.
As I was nearing the end
of my sheet of Regular Dimensionals, I used some of the outside edges.
As you
can imagine it was a totally different ball game putting Mini
Dimensionals on the back of the two bouquets!
I managed four complete
Minis and then I had to cut lots of different sized small pieces for as
many places as possible.
To finish the front of the card I painted both
bows using the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen.
Inside
the card I adhered a layer of Silver Foil, and a top layer of Whisper
White CS.
To decorate it, I used Basic Black Archival Ink, and stamped the small flower image in the Lots of Lavender Stamp Set.
I
coloured it in using Soft Sky, Pool Party and Wild Wasabi Marker Pens.
As
I said at the beginning, this a simple card but time-consuming because
of the fussy cutting.
If you'd like to CASE this, but are put off
because of the fussy cutting, see what stamp sets you have that has a
suitable flower you could use but which has a co-ordinating die!
I hope you've enjoyed today's project, and I hope you have a good day. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
