Yesterday I watched a new video from Frenchie, aka France Martin, and it really struck a cord with me!
She made the video primarily to show how to store more stamp sets, but she also explained how she keeps tabs on stamp sets she's bought and hasn't used!
This is sooo me!!
Her idea is so simple, I'm going to be doing it!
Basically, she puts a piece of Washi Tape on the spine of each new stamp set case and removes it once she's used that set.
Therefore she can see at a glance which stamp sets she hasn't used yet!
If I had this system up and running already, I would have removed the Washi Tape from my Orange Blossom Stamp Set after I'd finished making today's card!
I took a scrap of computer paper , and tested stamping the main flower with a whole range of different colours before I eventually settled on Flirty Flamingo.
I stamped five flowers onto some scraps of Whisper White CS using Flirty Flamingo Ink, and fussy cut them.
I laid a Delicate White Doily onto the top layer of my card and arranged the flowers and leaves.
The layer definitely needed something - it looked so bland!
I used the script stamp from the Background Bits Hostess Stamp Set.
The flowers needed centres and I considered various options, like Basic Pearls, Basic Rhinstones, stamping dots in a darker colour, etc.
I decided to fussy cut some little flowers from the Flirty Flamingo design in the Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper.
I took another scrap of Whisper White CS, and using Flirty Flamingo Ink, I stamped the Happy Birthday Sentiment from the Rose Wonder Stamp Set.
Next I took my Paper Snips and cut around the sentiment creating curves here and there, and then I adhered it to the card front using Dimensionals.
I've seen this technique used by one or two other crafters before but have never done it myself, and I have to say I'm really pleased wth the result!
Frenchie's video is just below. ☺ That's it for today, so until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
