I was very disappointed yesterday because my delivery from UPS didn't arrive!
When I tracked my delivery at lunchtime, it was marked as "delayed".
Later during the day it said it was due for delivery by the end of the day today.
I so hope it arrives today as I have everything ready to get my customers' happy mail packaged and sent out!
Yesterday, I was able to finish my card swaps for Thailand, and also make one that I upped very slightly, plus a video that I'll schedule for publishing while I'm away, possibly 16th July.
I feel amazingly well organised, and have just two more videos to make.
While I was finishing off my swaps yersterday afternoon, I had YouTube playing on my iPad.
I'd set it to play playlists I saved several years ago!
One of the videos that came up was one that demonstrated the faux metal technique, which is what I've used for today's cards.
I think it'll be a great technique to share in a video!
The images on these cards are somewhat bland and need "something" added.
I started with a card base of Whisper White Cardstock (CS), then a layer of Basic Black CS and a top layer of Marina Mist CS (Smokey Slate CS).
I stamped the car, which is from the Guy Greetings Stamp Set, on a piece of Whisper White CS using Basic Black Archival Ink.
I coloured the car using the Marina Mist (Soft Sky) Marker Pen.
Immediately under the car I stamped the birthday sentiment which is also from the Guy Greetings Stamp Set.
I coloured the hollow parts of the letters using Marina Mist (Soft Sky) Marker Pen.
I layered the image onto a piece of Basic Black CS.
For the faux metal, I used the Petal Burst (Woodland) Embossing Folder, and layered it onto a piece of Basic Black CS.
Inside the card I adhered a layer of Basic Black CS, and then a top layer of Marina Mist (Smokey Slate) CS.
Before adding the top layer I stamped another image of the car in the bottom left-hand corner.
That's it for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
Sorry for the delayed UPS arrival ... I know how that can throw a person off, but I also sense the urgency and closeness of your time for "take off" and you really don't have it to spare right now! Hopefully, the waiting is over today! Really love this look and will definitely be looking forward to the video explaining further, when the time comes. Needing a masculine b/d card very shortly, so will probably go with this. Thanks Jan! Always, inspiring!
ReplyDeleteHi, Geraldine. I'm pleased to say that my parcel did arrive this afternoon and I've managed to get all my customers' happy mail in the post! Another job on my list that I can tick! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
