Yesterday I had another play with the delightful Just Add Colour Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP).
Today's card is a variation of the triple layer stamping technique.
If you don't know how to do this technique, please check out my Triple Layer Stamping Video.
This time, instead of stamping my own design, I used DSP that already had it's own design, but which needed to be coloured.
Normally, to make a triple layer stamping card, we cut three pieces of Whisper White Cardstock (CS) in different sizes.
Then, using a repositional glue, adhere them in what will be their final positions.
Once this is ready, it's time to stamp whatever design we want, all over the Whisper White CS.
I chose to use DSP, and only had two sheets of the same design, out of which I had to get my three layers!
I then took one piece, and cut off half an inch from each of the four sides.
For the smallest layer, I used my trimmer and cut out the centre of the largest piece.
I used a selection of different green inks, and watercoloured the images.
I squeezed some ink from the ink pad into the ink pad lid.
I used an Aqua Painter, and coloured the leaves in a totally random fashion as far as the colours were concerned.
As I wasn't sure how good the DSP would be for watercolouring, I kept my Aqua Painter quite dry.
It worked like a dream!
I adhered them all together making sure the images lined up.
Using Pear Pizzazz Ink, I stamped the sentiment, which is from the Best Birds Stamp Set, onto a piece of Whisper White CS.
I die cut the sentiment using the Stitched Shapes oval die no. 2.
I layered it onto another piece of Whisper White CS that I'd die cut using the Layering Oval Framelits, scalloped die no. 3.
Using Glue Dots, I adhered a piece of 5/8" Burlap Ribbon across the front of the card.
Then I used Mini Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment over the burlap.
To complete the inside of the card, I adhered a layer of Whisper White cardstock.
I decorated it by adhering a leaf I'd painted and fussy cut from one of my off cuts from the Just Add Colour DSP.
I think this makes a lovely masculine card that isn't dark and dreary!
That's it for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
