Eastern Palace and Doily

Hello, Crafters.

What a wonderful day it was yesterday; the sun was shining, the windows were open and the birds were singing, and it looks as if we have more of the same today!

I have two classes this weekend and one of my ladies, who recently bought a Big Shot, asked if we could do projects using embossing folders.

I wanted to try and combine it with the Eastern Palace Bundle, as time is running out to take advantage of the special Eastern Palace Suite promotion which ends on 31st May 2017.

I'd seen today's card on Pinterest earlier this week, and thought this would be ideal as it means one project would be showing how to use the Dynamic Embossing Folder.

It's not often I CASE a card without adding my own spin, but I have today! The only changes I made were changing the colour, and decorating the inside my card!

Full credit for this card goes to Linda Kaufman: lindaksstampinpage.blogspot.ca Many thanks, Linda.

I started my card with a base of Whisper White Cardstock (CS), with a layer of Emerald Envy CS and a top layer Whisper White CS.

I sprayed this top layer once on the front and once on the back with plain water.

We're advised to do this when we're using Dynamic Embossing Folders as it saves the cardstock from tearing.

Then I placed the cardstock inside the Hexagons Dynamic Embossing Folder, making sure it was straight.

I placed the embossing folder, with the fold facing front so it goes through first, on the Big Shot Platform, minus the Thin Die Adaptor and then one cutting mat.

I cranked it through the Big Shot and the result is amazing; the depth of the embossing is stunning.

I used one die from the Eastern Medallion Thinlits - please see last photograph.

This die cut stays on the cardstock, so I removed it by die cutting it using the straight cut die no. 8 from the Layering Circle Framelits.

I layered this onto a scalloped circle I'd die cut using the no. 8 scallop die from the same set of dies.

Then I die cut a Whisper White Stitched Shape Circle using the no. 2 circle die, and layered this on a scallop circle die cut using the no. 4 scallop die from the Layering Circles Framelets.

Before I adhered all the layers together, I stamped the little decoration between each petal on the outside of the circle, and I also stamped the sentiment on the Stitched Shape circle die cut.

Both stamps are from the Eastern Beauty Photopolymer Stamp Set.

Once all these layers were adhered together with Tombow, I adhered a Delicate White Doily at the bottom and then adhered it to the card front.

I adhered the top two layers together and then tied some retired Emerald Envy Ribbon around it and tied it in a bow at the front.

This was then adhered to the card base.

Inside the card I adhered a layer of Emerald Envy CS, and then a layer of Whisper Whte CS. The pattern I stamped at the bottom of this layer is also from the Eastern Beauty Stamp Set.

Now I have to decide on another card using the Eastern Palace Suite and an embossing folder!!

Thats about it for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting,

JanB.
