Hello, Crafters.Earlier this morning I posted my video which shows how I made the beehive card I shared here on 25th. April 2017.
I amended some parts of the original card because I wasn't totally happy with them.
The main change was how I created the two bees on the front of the card. I also changed the two bees inside.
On the original bees on the outside, I'd added a black-embossed die-cut vellum layer and it was just too busy.
The vellum layer has been omitted from the video.
The bees inside the original card had been coloured all over using my Delightful Dijon Marker Pen and then fussy cut.
These happened during the initial stages of designing a card when I experiment with all sorts of possibilities.
But I asked myself why not stamp directly on the cardstock, and when have I ever seen a bee with yellow wings!
Both issues were corrected in the video.
For
the wings I coloured them with my Smokey Slate Marker Pen and painted
all over the bees with my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen.This morning we're off to see our dear friend Liz.

Absolutely LOVE the card ... it's brilliant! I thought for sure you had planned your wardrobe accordingly ,,, funny! Jan, I have the same issue with one edge being a bit short on my card base, when folded over ... just a tad, but I remedy the situation exactly the same as you did. Love the beehive, love everything about this card! Wish I had the stamp sets you've used, but don't ... never mind, where there's a will there's a way and I'll find it! Thanks so much for a great tutorial once again!

DeleteHi Jan, love your little bee cards, they're really cute. I'm also wondering where you got the punch and ink storage shelves from. My son and his wife moved out of our downstairs, so I'm claiming it as my new craft space. After I've done redoing it...painting etc...I will need some storage units to put my inks and punches in.Thanks...Ann in Canada

DeleteThere is an ink storage unit available in the US which I think is a lot better than mine. By the side of each ink pad, there's a cubby hole for the re-inker and one for the Marker Pen! Unfortunately, they don't ship to the UK!
The following is a copy and paste of an email I've just sent someone in the Netherlands " I bought the Stampin' Up! Punch Storage Units on Ebay from a company called Lasersmith, and paid £15.95 each, ready assembled, post free. They’re also available from the company website www.lasersmith.co.uk for £12.95 ready assembled, plus shipping. I have emailed the company to find out if they ship outside the UK and am waiting for a reply. You may like to contact them yourself.
The Ink Storage units are from a company called Craft Racks and cost £29.99 each for 48 pads or £49.99 for one unit that holds 96 pads.
