Mint Macaroon is the colour I'm going to miss the most when the 2015 - 2017 InColours retire on 31.05.17.
Fortunately, I love all the five new InColours, so that will soften the blow for me!
When I first saw the new Lemon Lime Twist, I thought it was bright and gaudy, but in real life, although it's definitely bright, it's certainly not gaudy!
I had seen something about the Stylised Birthday Stamp recently which, although I love it, I've only used it once or twice!
I started today's card by stamping the cat in the flower pot image, which is from the Pretty Kitty Stamp Set.
I used Basic Black Archival Ink onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock (CS).
To colour the image I used I used the following Marker Pens: Smokey Slate, Old Olive, Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette, Sahara Sand and Soft Sky.
I decided to use the same technique I used the other day when I felt like this!
I chose to use the Hardwood Stamp, inked in Sahara Sand Ink and stamped off twice on some scrap paper. I decided the third generation stamp would be ideal for the faint background I wanted.
I partially inked the stamp again, stamped off twice and stamped over the image for the third stamp. Disaster!
So it was a question of back to the drawing board!
I stamped a new image and did a third generation stamp over the top of the whole image.
I painted the image again, changing the positions of the two pinks, and painting the flower pot Crumb Cake instead of Sahara Sand.
I heat embossed the sentiment using Versamark, Mint Macaroon Ink and Clear Embossing powder.
As I'm sitting here writing, I have my card standing to my side.
Looking at it I can see the sentiment square needs some Pearls to be added - probably three medim-sized in a line in top right-hand corner and again in bottom left-hand corner.
I adhered the Designer Series Paper to the Mint Macaroon layer.
When I had adhered these it was easy to slip a piece of ribbon underneath and position them exactly where I wanted them.
Then I adhered this layer to the card base and, as always, I added extra adhesive to the ribbon ends.
Inside the card, I adhered a layer each of Mint Macaroon and Whisper White CS.
I decided to fussy cut the first cat in the flower pot I'd created, where I had miscalculated the background stamp!
All's well that ends well!
I'm really pleased that all three stamp sets I've used today are going to be carried forward to the new catalogue!
Before I go, I'd like to put a shout out to everyone in the US, Canada, and Australia who has found a supplier of the die storage folders, or something very similar, I featured in my video on Wednesday.
I've had enquiries from crafters in these three countries asking if anyone knows where these files can be purchased. I know that in the US, Scrapbook.com sell the same files but not the refill sheets. Any help will be greatly appreciated! ☺
I have a busy weekend to look forward to with classes today and tomorrow - full house with just one spare place! hope you have a great weekend and until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
Hi Jan, the following stores in the U.S. carry Docrafts Papermania stamp and die storage replacement pockets: Simon Says Stamp!, Staples, Walmart and Joann Fabrics. The polka dot books are also available from Amazon.com
