When I first start playing with this card yesterday, I knew what I was aiming for i.e. the Pink Pirouette card with three white flowers.
However, when I held the three layers together, I thought it looked rather bland.
I changed the colour scheme, and used Whisper White Cardstock (CS) for the top layer and base, then I stamped a design on the top layer.
But then, when I held these three layers together, I thought it looked rather busy!
Card 1 - Pink Pirouette and Whisper White CS.
I started with a top layer of Pink Pirouette and die cut the three flowers from Stylish Stems Framelits.
I adhered this to a layer of Whisper White CS and then on to a card base of Pink Pirouette CS.
I used Sweet Sugarplum Ink to stamp the sentiment on a strip of Whisper White CS which I'd fish tailed the ends.
I adhered a sheet of Whisper White CS inside the card and stamped a flower from the Special Reason Stamp Set in the bottom right hand corner using Pink Pirouette Ink.
Card 2 - Sweet Sugarplum and Whisper White CS.
I started with a top layer of Whisper White CS and die cut the three flowers from Stylish Stems Framelits.
I stamped the small flower from the That's the Tag Stamp Set using Basic Black Archival Ink randomly, but making sure I avoided actually stamping on the die cut flower.
I used Old Olive and Sweet Sugarplum Marker Pens to colour the flowers and finished them with the Gold Wink of Stella Pen.
I adhered another layer of Sweet Sugarplum and Whisper White CS inside the card, and decorated the bottom right hand corner with three of the small flowers to match the front of the card.
The following items will be retiring on 31st May, 2017 - That's the Tag and Special Reason Stamp Sets, Stylish Stems Framelit Dies and Wink of Stella Gold Glitter Pen.
I keep looking at both of these cards and I think I prefer the patterened one, but the jury is definitely still out on this one!
As always, your feedback will be very much appreciated!
Tomorrow, I'm hoping to publish my video sharing my Amsterdam OnStage Swaps with you!
There! I've said it! I'd better get myself in gear and get it sorted! ☺
Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
Both cards are great but I love the patterned one the most. Thanks for sharing your ideas with all of us.
ReplyDeleteHi, Anonymous. I'm pleased you like the patterned one, I'm still undecided! LOL! ☺ Happy Easter and Happy crafting. JanB.
DeleteWhile my own cards can oft times tend toward being busier, I have to say that I also really love clean and simple or more plain cards, so my vote is going to go there today. That said, however, I can well imagine the recipient of the "busier" card being quite thrilled too. Love all the pink!! Hope this means you're feeling more "in the pink" after your headache, Jan!
ReplyDeleteHi, Geraldine. I do like the plain one but I just feel that it needs something extra! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
