I hope you're enjoying the weekend - a particularly warm one here in the UK!
This morning I uploaded a video showing how I lined up the three stamps in the three-step stamping for the Thankful Life card I shared here on Thursday.
Even if you don't have this particular stamp set, I hope the tutorial will give you an idea how to decide what parts of a stamp to line up with any two or three-step stamp set.
The principles are the same for each.
As I demonstrate in the video, it isn't enough just to get just one or two parts lined up, but more like three or ideally four parts.
It took me nine attempts to get to the stage where I was confident of success each time.
I doubt if it's possible to achieve perfection, but with a bit of practice you can get pretty close!
I also show how I went about deciding which colours work together well.
Please see last photograph for the test sheet I made!
When I shared the first card on Thursday, I said I didn't like the Sweet Sugarplum Glimmer Paper vase, so I moved onto stamped vases which look so, so much better.
Having said that, I still feel the vases lacked something........and as I'm writing this, I've just had an idea!
It would look great if the vase was stamped on a piece of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) and then paper-pieced onto the vase!
Oh boy! I wished I'd thought of that earlier!
Anyway, I digress.
On the video I used some retired Pool Party Baker's Twine - this can be substituted with the new Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine.
I hope you find the video helpful.
I went down to my local art shop yesterday afternoon to get some ribbon for my daughter's wedding invitations.
They didn't have the colour I needed in stock, so they're going to order it for me on Monday and it should be here by Wednesday.
I would have liked to have used our Cherry Cobbler Ribbon that was in our Christmass catalogue but I've only found one person with two rolls and I need six!
The Shimmery White Cardstock arrived on Friday so I think I'm just about ready to make a start.
My plan for today is the make the first invitation and as soon as I know the idea works as nicely as we think it will, I'll start working on them in earnest!
I have until Friday to get them all ready - no pressure then?? LOL!
I wish you a happy Sunday. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

Jan thank you for the video. I now feel ready to make some lovely cards thanks to your tutorial, which was excellent!!

Hi, Sue. I'm so pleased you enjoyed the tutorial. I'm hearing from a few people who have found lining these three up a bit of a challenge! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
