Hello, Crafters.
I hope you've had a great weekend.
The good news is that since
I gave up my job in London to concentrate on my Stampin' Up!
business two years ago, I'm pleased to say my business has grown. The
number of YouTube subscribers continues to grow, the number of hits my
blog receives each day has grown and the Likes on my Facebook business
page has grown, albeit at a much slower pace. At
the same time my team of Stampin' Up! demos has continued to grow and I
have demos who are working hard building their own businesses.
The
bad news is that there are not enough hours in the day for me to look
after all these things to the extent that I need to.
Unfortunately, it means I have to cut down in some areas, and one of
them is not posting to my blog everyday. I'm very upset I've had to make
this decision because I love creating cards and sharing them with you.
Needless to say I have talked this over at great length with hubby and I
accept this is the sensible way to go. There are other areas I will be
cutting back on, too. I've always prided myself that I have responded to
everyone who leaves a comment here on my blog, everyone who emails me
and everyone who comments on my videos. I will carry on with the first
two because the numbers are easily managed. However, from today, I will
still read ALL the comments on YouTube, and will click the Thumbs Up to
indicate I have read it, but I will only comment on those with questions.
Again, I'm not happy
that I'm having to cut back on this, but it is
the
sensible way to move forward.
I've
been thinking about this - and putting it off - since the beginning of
the year but today's a good day to start because I going into hospital as a day patient for some tests. I don't think it's anything serious but I'm not
sure I'll be up to posting my blog tomorrow.
I
haven't worked out what days I'll do my blog, except definitely
Wednesdays and Sundays as they're video days. In the back of my mind I'm
hoping that maybe I can pop on each day, even if it's only with a quick
update about what I'm doing! I hope you understand my reasons for doing
this and hope you'll stay with me. Many thanks for your understanding. ☺
Before
I close, I want to share these wooden crates with you that I bought
in Home Bargains, High Wycombe yesterday! We were on our way back from
visiting our dear friend Liz in Aylesbury and made the detour. My plan
is to use these to revamp my display when I do craft fairs. They were
surprising cheap in comparison to lots of others I've seen and the
quality is excellent. They feel like velvet to touch, they are so
smooth! The "handles" are cut out hearts. I bought three large and one
medium sized boxes, and will be used for my first craft show of the year
which is at the Gingham Goose Craft Market on 4th. March 2017. Thanks for telling me about Home Bargains, Maire!
That's it from me today, and (hopefully) until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
Wishing you well with your tests, will miss all your comments, but you just can't do everything
ReplyDeletecheers
Hi, Kaye. Many thanks for your good wishes and understanding, Kaye. ☺ Happy crafting. JanB.
DeleteJan, I will be praying for you today and hoping that all goes well for you. I personally will miss your everyday blog but do understand. I have often thought how does this woman do everything she does. You do need to take care of yourself and do what's best for you.
ReplyDeleteHi, Lawanda. I can't imagine what it's going to be like not talking on my blog everyday! Many thanks for your prayers, they're appreciated. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
DeleteI will continue to follow you. I love your projects. I understand not being able to do it all. Wishing all the best with your medical tests. And a thumbs up is great. Take care.
ReplyDeleteHi, Ina. Many thanks for your support and your understanding, it's very much appreciated. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
DeletePraying your tests come out well, Jan ... totally understand your need to cut back and am only amazed that you've been carrying on as long as you have ... time to re-prioritze. Your health is precious and well I understand the struggle and hard choices. Wishing you only the best and we'll just appreciate Wednesdays and Sundays that much more. Praying for a good outcome and hope by cutting back, it will ease some of the pressure.
ReplyDeleteHi, Geraldine. Many thanks for your prayers, they mean a lot to me. I'm hoping to do four days a week. Fingers crossed! ☺Happy crafting, JanB.
DeleteHi Jan, I have never commented on your videos but I do watch them and love your projects. I realize that a daily blog can be a big task as I too post six days a week. I just wonder if you realize you can schedule your blog posts. You can write several posts at one time and schedule them to go live whenever you like. I have mine scheduled for 1 am and sometime during the morning I will post my blog to Pinterest and Facebook. Wishing you good health..
ReplyDeleteHi, Petra. Many thanks for your support for my videos. Yes, like my videos, I can schedule my blogs but I still need to make the cards and then write about, so scheduling won't save any actual time. Because I make a card a day, I find I'm able to come up with various different ideas but if I tried to do four or five in a row, I think I'd struggle for inspiration. Many thanks for trying to help me, I really do appreciate your suggestion. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB
DeleteJan, Hope all goes well with your tests. I can certainly understand your need to back off in certain areas. They are all time consuming. Your dedicated followers will always be here to support your decisions! Happy crafting!
ReplyDeleteHi, Cherie. Many thanks for you support, i really do appreciate it. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.

DeleteHi Jan,
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to see you go, it seems that all of the good ones are either cutting back or leaving all together. I'm going to miss you and my morning cuppa. Good luck with your tests...hope all goes well for you.{{{hugs}}} Ann in Canada
Hi, Ann. I'm not going altogether. My blog is a large part of my life and I enjoy sitting here talking to you. It really hasn't been an easy decision, but it may mean you'll drink a little less tea! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
DeleteHi Jan, I read your blog every day and look forward to seeing what you have to share. But please take care of your health, your family needs you and no one can take your place for them. Cutting back seems very sensible and I will continue to check whenever you decide. Sending you my prayers from across the pond. Kathy
ReplyDeleteHi, Cathy. Many thanks for your prayers - they're very much appreciated. I'm hoping to still post four days a week, I need to work out which four will be best. Once I've decided, I will be consistent and stick to the same days each week. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
DeleteHi Jan, Many thoughts and prayers for you as you undergo these tests. We all need to look after our health, life is so precious. Thanks for all the inspiration that you have given and will continue to give. Love from Australia.
ReplyDeleteHi, Rosalie. Many thanks for your thoughts and prayers. They're very much appreciated. I'll get my results in two weeks, so I'm going to get submerged in crafting while I wait. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
