Butterfly Banner Card by CrafteresaUK

Hello, Crafters.

This morning I uploaded my video which shows how I made this butterfly banner card. 

It's my take on a card one of the lady's in my team did for her Card & Cuppa session on Monday.

CrafteresaUK stamped the lacy design at the bottom of her card using Whisper White Craft Ink which takes a little while to dry.

 
I decided to use heat embossing as that's instant drying, as opposed to using the white ink and using my Heat Tool to dry it. 

The stamp is from the Sale-a-bration stamp set called  Delicate Details and, depending on the colour of cardstock, I used either Gold or Silver Embossing Powder.

My card bases are all Tip Top Taupe, with a layer of Whisper White on the Mint Macaroon and Watermelon Wonder cards and Very Vanilla on the Delightful Dijon card.

I decorated the inside of all three cards with a layer of Whisper Whiter (or Very Vanilla) and I stamped the small butterfly on the bottom right hand corner.

I wasn't sure of the measurements CrafteresaUK used and you may notice that the length of the banner grew as I went - the first being Mint Macaroon was the shortest, then Delightful Dijon and on video I did Watermelon Wonder. 

I had to cut the Mint Macaroon Banner shorter than I'd planned because I'd stamped the lacy design too high! 

I chose the Fluttering Embossing Folder for the banner and selected where I placed the banner in the folder so I could get several smaller butterflies onto my banner. 

I used the Triple Banner Punch to fishtail the end of the banner, but this could always be cut by hand if you don't have this punch. 

The Mint Macaroon banner is missing the ribbon around the top because the ribbon I'd used around the base was too wide. 

For the second and third cards I used the 3/8" Metallic Ribbon Combo which is another gift available during Sale-a-bration and blends brilliantly with our Gold and Silver Embossing Powders.

After I'd added the ribbon around the base, I added a faux bow or false knot - I'm not quite sure what to call this! Any ideas?

CrafteresaUK had given her butterfly antennae which encouraged me to do the same! 

I have shown on a previous video how I make antennae using the bow die that comes in the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, and have included a demo for how I do it in this video, too!

It's amazing how much better this addition makes to butterflies!
