Thank You For Your Patience

Hello, Crafters.

What should have been a fabulous day for Stampin' Up! yesterday turned out to be an absolute nightmare for them!

Sale-a-bration started and the new Spring catalogue went live, and then SU's entire services crashed!

At first it was thought it was down to so many orders being placed, that it overloaded the system, causing it to crash, but it turned out to be more serious than that!

SU's email internet and telephones went down too, so they spent the day frantically trying to get the system back up and running.

Stampin' Up! are using a state-of-the-art system, and even the president of the vendor company has been trying to figure out what went wrong.

Apparently this outrage was unprecedented, and it will take days, possibly months to work out what went wrong.

I can't thank my customers and my team of demonstrators enough for the patience they showed yesterday - as always, you are amazing! Thanks a million for your understanding! ☺

One quick bit of good news! Yesterday my GP decided that I had suffered long enough with my sore throat - on and off for seven weeks! - and this past week, a sore chest, that I'm now on penicillin! YAY! Thank you, Doctor!

Going forward, I've decided I'm going to use Thank You as a sentiment on as many of my cards as possible! This is because I use more thank you cards than anything else, so it'll put extra meaning in the cards I make.

It will also mean that, like today's card, my Thank You cards are going to be more "decorated" than normal, when I mass product 20-30 at a time!

Well, that's the theory - let's see how I get on!

I started today's card with a base of Soft Sky Cardstock (CS), with a layer of Very Vanilla CS and a top layer of a Soft Sky design from the Falling in Love Designer Series Paper (DSP).

I stamped one of the ladies from the Beautiful You Stamp Set onto a piece od Very Vanilla CS, using Archival Black Ink.

I stamped over the image using one of the "watercolour wash" stamps and paid attention as to where I place the stamp i.e. I could just about see her moutn and the top of my stamp was parallel to the bottom of her hat at the back.

I re-inked and stamped on top of the last stamp, lining up the stamp in the same position as previously.

I used my Soft Sky Marker Pen to paint the hat roughly so it also looked like a "watercolour wash".

I die cut the image using a Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies and layered it onto a scalloped oval die cut with the Layering Oval Framelits Die.

I stamped the sentiment from the Sweet Cupcake Stamp Set and layered it onto another strip of Very Vanilla.

I adhered the DSP to the Vary Vanilla layer using Tombow.

Then I adhered three strips of the new ¼” Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon round the top of the card as three individual strips. Then I adhered this to the card base.

I attached the image using Dimensionals that I adhered to the card front so I knew exactly where they were going because I wanted them on the card front and not the ribbons. I adhered the sentiment with Tombow.

Finally, I adhered a layer of Very Vanilla on the inside of my card, stamped the top part of the lady and coloured as the image on the front.

That's about it for today. I have a delightfully busy day today, getting my happy mail ready to send out to my December customers!!

Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

JanB.
