Hello, Crafters.
One
of the ladies in my team recently couriered two storage units to me.
She'd found them in her local Asda store (supermarket in the UK that's
owned by Walmart - I believe). At £4 each (reduced from £7!), they were
amazing value.
As
soon as I had set them up on my desk and re-arranged some things, I
knew I wanted more... .............like four more!
At the time, they
were sold out online, so hubby went to the Asda near his office but they
didn't have any, so he tried our local one. Still no joy!
Maire said
she'd go back to her store, in Glasgow, after the weekend and get some
more for me and courier them down. During the weekend, hubby went back
online, and they were back in stock, albeit at £7 each! He ordered four and collected them on
Wednesday on his way home.
I spent my morning yesterday having a really
good spring-clean on my desk! I'm so thrilled with
the result!
I've
posted before and after photographs so you can see the transformation. (I have posted the photographs in pairs so that 1 & 2 are before and after, 3 & 4 are before & after, etc).
When I was working at my desk yesterday afternoon, I couldn't believe
the amount of space I now have!
Unfortunately
I threw the label away which gave the size but they are approximately
15" (39cm) tall, 7.5" (19cm) wide and 10.25" (26cm) deep. They're
constructed in plastic, and have drawers that can be pulled out
altogether if needed. The framework if silver-coloured.
When I was happy
with the layout, I put a little "blob" of Blu Tack under both back
corners to avoid me pushing on something and knocking any of them onto
the floor!
You can see from the after photographs, I'm utilising the
space on top of the units too! I can't believe how many empty boxes, box lids, etc I had by the time I'd finished my re-organistation!
Although
I haven't done it, you can take the top off one unit, and stack
another unit on top! I think they'd be too high if on a desk, but if they were going to stand on the ground, I think it's
a great idea.
I may get one more unit and split it into two so I can
put two more drawers on top of each unit at either end! As the saying goes, the
jury's out on that at the moment!
I'm really happy with the way it is at
the moment and working in my studio is so much more comfortable! A big THANK YOU to Maire for letting me know about
these!
That's it for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
Code for the units is 5014348286984 and measurements H39CM X W26CM X L20CM
ReplyDeleteHi, Maire. No sign of your first post coming through! Many thanks for these details, though. I was pretty close with my measurements! LOL! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
DeleteOh my! They really made a difference. Look at all that desk space you have now. You make me want to run home and start throwing things around my room (might as well, I'm in a creative funk).
ReplyDeleteHi, Judy. It's amazing isn't iT? I must remember to keep everything in the drawers when I'm not using them. When I was working in there yesterday (Friday), the space was brilliant. I felt I could have swung a cat around in there! (Where did that expression come from!) LOL! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
DeleteA great days work but can you now find anything, haha
ReplyDeleteHi, Kaye. Yesterday I was able to find everything I needed. The drawers are sort of organised but they'll be somethings I won't know where I've put them! LOL! I'll be labelling the drawers when I get five minutes! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
