Scrapbooking!

This is a first for me today here on my blog - scrapbooking! I don't normally do this and have only dabbled in the past. But now my daughter is engaged to be married to a really wonderful man, I just had to! I thought it'd make a change from an engagement card and I could get this framed for them.

I started with a 12”x12” sheet of Sahara Sand Cardstock (CS), with a layer of Very Vanilla CS, and a top layer of a design from the Falling in Love Designer Series Paper (DSP) that’s available in the new Spring catalogue. I adhered the top two layers together using Tombow. Then I took two pieces of the Very Vanilla ¼” Satin Ribbon and two pieces of the Very Vanilla ½” Lace Trim; they were all about 14” long. I applied small amounts of SNAIL along one side and and adhered them together. I wanted the Lace Trim to be on top although I’ve found you can put these two layers together either way and it looks lovely both ways.

I put SNAIL all along the back of the Satin Ribbon and then adhered the strips, one at the top and one at the bottom and then I used Fast Fuse to adhere the ends on the back. When I was happy that it was all adhered properly and straight, I adhered the whole layer to the sheet os Sahara Sand CS. I used Tombow and made sure I added a bit more on the ribbon ends as extra security to stop the ribbon from going walkabouts!

I based my design for my scrapbook page on a wedding card I’d made a copy of days earlier. Using Very Vanilla CS, I die cut two flowers and centres using the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies. I adhered them together and then adhered each of them onto the fabulous new Lace Doilies – Whisper White on one side and Very Vanilla on the other! In the centre of each flower, I adhered one of the Falling in Love Embellishments - Tombow is amazing!.

I printed several photographs from Christmas Day and played around with the layout. Long story, short! I settled on the three photographs I thought looked best and rounded the corners using my Project Life Corner Rounder. I kept everything in place while I started to adhere everything to my page. The first were the flower doilies, and next were the photographs, together with the plain Lace Doilies that I wanted under them. I adhered Vicki’s photograph with Dimensionals and the next two using Tombow.

My final touch were Leigh and Victoria’s names. I used a freshly re-inked Sahara Sand Ink Pad, together with the fabulous Brushwork Alphabet Stamp Set. I added six Rhinestones to represent the fabulouse solitaire diamond ring Vicki is now wearing on her left hand.
