Hot Air Balloon Video

Hello, Crafters.

After I had completed my Up & Away blog and my admin jobs yesterday, I went into my studio to play with the hot air balloon bundle a bit more!

I wanted to make one with a plain background so I could put sunshine coming in the corner.

Three cards later, I decided to make a video of it, which I uploaded earlier this morning.

This really is not the kind of bundle that I go for in a big way, but I’m having trouble putting it down.

I keep having different ideas coming into my mind “I wonder what it would look like…………..??”
I think I’m going have to do the same as I did with my Copper Embossing Powder some time ago; that’s hide the bundle for a little while.

As I was making the video, I thought this would be a great card to make for a man, especially if you use the colours of his favourite team’s strip to line the balloon!!

Photographs 1 - 2: this is the card I made on the video

Photographs 3 - 4: this is the first sunshine card I made.

The stamp is from the Wherever You Go Stamp Set and the image looks like hazy sunshine.

I die some clouds and sponged the edges with Smokey Slate Ink, and daubed some ink on the clouds to make them look like rain clouds.

On this occasion I remembered to paint the actual balloon with Wink of Stella Clear Glitter pen BEFORE I started adhering the labels.

I stamped the sunshine and the small balloon on the inside of the card.

Photographs 5 - 6: the Designer Series Paper (DSP) I used for this card is from the Sale-a-bration Carried Away DSP.

On this card I decided not to use any Wink of Stella, so I could show all three options.

I didn’t think about it while I was working on the card but once I was ready to add the clouds, I thought it looks like snow!

When I was preparing the clouds, I only sponged the edges so they looked more like snow clouds, not rain clouds as previously!
That's about it for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

  1. It's a great card, again and I can see how you're really enjoying playing with this Balloon set ... lots of potential there for sure. Really appreciate how you've been including the insides of your cards too, since the new year began. It really does add something to the completed project. Thanks again for a great tutorial!

    1. Hi, Geraldine. I have to agree, it really does add a lot to a card if the inside is decorated. Maybe next year I'll start decorating my envelopes, too! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.

  2. When I watched your videos before I could read the captions. Are they no longer available?

    1. Hi, Gloria. Yes, I still put all the products, codes, measurements on the screen. Are you watching on a different device? I know you can't see the writing on some of them, which is why I always put the details in the box under the video as well. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
