Yesterday I decided to have a play with the Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set and the co-ordinating Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies.
As usually happens when I start playing with new bundles, I now have a small pile of stamped and painted die-cut dragonflies on my desk!
I spent so long playing that I didn't notice time rushing past!
In the end I CASE'd a card I saw in the Spring catalogue so I had a card to share today - needless to say, I put my own spin on it!
I started my card with a base of Whisper White Cardstock (CS), a layer of the pink and white spotted design from the Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper (DSP), and a top layer of Whisper White CS.
The first thing I did was to die cut the line of five Dragonflies from the right-hand side of the top layer.
Using Tombow, I adhered this top layer to the DSP.
These two stamps are from the Helping Me Grow Stamp Set.
Using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen, I painted in the gaps of each letter.
I did it several times so I was able to pick up a small amount of the pink ink.
Then I took a length of the 1/8" Melon Mambo Stitched Ribbon and wrapped it around this layer, so they criss-crossed each other.
I made a small bunny-ears bow and attached to the centre of the criss-crossed ribbons using Glue Dots.
I also put another Glue Dot under the ribbon strips to make sure they were secure.
Using Tombow, I adhered the layer to the card base, making sure I put Tombow on the two ribbon ends for extra security.
Then I put some Tombow on the back of the die cut Dragonflies, making sure I put glue on all the bodies and heads, but just some of the wings.
I wanted some of the wings left "free" so I could curl them up when my card was finished!
Then I painted the bodies with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen - it would have been a lot easier if I'd painted them before I'd adhered them down!!
Since Christmas, I've started decorating the insides of my cards!
I think I felt shamed by how beautifully everyone had done the insides of the Christmas cards they sent me!
You've all done me a favour really, so thank you! ☺
I must say that decorating the inside of the card does make a huge difference so I'm pleased with my new habit!
I must also get in the habit of remembering to photograph the inside! DOH!
I'll try and remember to post a photograph tomorrow!
