Yesterday I spent time in my studio re-arranging my stamp sets! I moved the Christmas sets out, excluding Seasonal Bells, and brought in all the new sets.
The second stamp set from the Spring catalogue I wanted to use was the Tie Dyed (see photograph 6) which co-ordinates brilliantly with the Custom Tee Stamp Set (see photograph 7).
Tie Dyed is a two-step stamp set and contains a total of eight stamps. As soon as I first saw this stamp set, I've wanted to stamp the two background stamps, one on top of the other, in two co-ordinating colours and then stamp a t-shirt design on it! I chose to use Tip Tip Taupe Ink as the first colour and then Soft Sky Ink.
I stamped the masculine short sleeved t-shirt from the Custom Tee Stamp set onto my design and cut it out by hand. I do have the T-shirt Builder Framelits Dies but I didn't want any excess edge, and as the shape is straight forward, I decided it'd be really easy to cut by hand.
The T-shirt looks as if I've just stamped it straight onto a piece of patterned paper rather than having stamped the background design myself.
There are several stamps in this set that can be used to decorate the T-shirt with. To help me decide which one to use, I thought who was the next male in my family to have a birthday. As it's my grandson Jack's birthday in March, it was an easy decision "One in a Million". I then stamped Birthday Boy onto a piece of my leftover deisgn and punched it out using the Classic Label Punch.
To put my card together, I adhered a Whisper White Cardstock (CS) layer to a Tip Top Taupe CS card base, and adhered a top layer of the Soft Sky stripe design from the Subtles Collection Designer Series Paper (DSP) Stack.
I die cut the t-shirt image using the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, and layered it on to a Scalloped circle die cut from the Layered Circle Framelits Dies.
This was then adhered onto the card front. The sentiment was adhered to a narrow piece of Whisper White CS and I cut the ends off parallell to the ends of the punched shape. I then adhered this to a wider piece of of Tip Top Taupe CS, which I adhered on the card front.
Please note that if you're in the European Market, if you buy these two stamp sets, you'll earn a free Sale-a-bration gift!
That's about it for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
