Today's card is my second card using the Tie Dyed Stamp Set. I used Soft Sky Ink and Marina Mist Ink to create a lake for the swans to swim in.
I'm pleased how this idea grew although I wasn't sure what sentiment to use.
I was very disappointed to see that the embossing folder I've used is called Falling Petals. When I first saw it, I saw hearts floating upwards, and that's how it's going to be with me!
Hubby thought they looked like birds, or butterflies! I love the idea of hearts floating upwards and see it being used for Valentine Cards and Mother's Day Cards! What did you think when you first saw this embossing folder?
I created my card with a Soft Sky Cardstock (CS) base, with a layer of Shimmery White CS and a top layer of Soft Sky CS. I dry embossed this top layer using the Falling Petals aka Floating Hearts. I adhered the top two layers together using Tombow.
Using Marina Mist Ink, I stamped the first square stamp from the Tie Dyed Stamp Set onto a piece of Shimmery White CS. Then I stamped on top of the image using Soft Sky Ink and the second square stamp.
With the two square stamps in this set, I don't think it makes any real difference which stamp you use for the darkest ink.
I die cut the image using no.7 straight cut die from the Layered Circles Framelits Dies and layered it onto a piece of Shimmery White CS I'd die cut using no. 8 of the scalloped Layered Circle Dies.
I stamped the swan and the signets, which are from the Swan Lake Stamp Set, using Archival Basic Black ink onto Shimmery White CS and cut them out by hand. Using my Pumpkin Pie Marker Pen, I coloured their beaks, and then adhered them to the water using Tombow.
I stamped the sentiment, which is from the new Big on Birthdays Stamp Set, uisng Archival Basic Black Ink onto a piece of Shimmery white cardstock, layered it onto a piece of the lake design.
I should have layered this onto another piece of Shimmery White CS, but I was distracted by dinner, and had forgotten about it by the time I went back to finish off my card!
I wrapped some white Baker's Twine around the top two layers five times and tied it up with a bow. This layer was then adhered to the card base,. Then I used Tombow to adhere the image and the sentiment in place using Tombow.
I hope you all have a great weekend and wish you all a healthy, bright and blessed New Year. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
