Peace This Christmas Card No 1

Hello, Crafters.

I hope you had a great weekend.

I used the Peace This Christmas Stamp Set for the first time yesterday and made three cards one after the other!

I started by getting together some Whisper White Cardstock (CS), three inks: Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede and Garden Green, and a pair of Paper Snips.

I stamped eight pinecones in Soft Suede Ink, six pine branches in Garden Green Ink and some berries in Cherry Cobbler Ink.

For the berries, I stamped six in groups of three and also three single berries.

Then I had a very relaxing time fussy cutting all my stamped images!

I have no idea why I decided to stamp and fussy cut the images instead of stamping them straight onto the CS, except to say it seemed to be a good idea at the time! LOL!

I imagine subconsciously, it was because there is no right or wrong way for the images to be used, therefore as fussy cuts, I could play with the positioning!

It would have been helpful if there was a coordinating set of dies for this stamp set.

Although I'm quite happy fussy cutting, I do know lots of crafters don’t!

I did start stamping directly onto the top layer when I reached card number 3, so watch out for this as the week goes on!

To create today’s card I started with a base of Whisper White CS, with a layer of Soft Suede CS and a top layer of Whisper White CS.

I attached the first layer to the card base using Tombow.

I decided to stamp the sentiment in the centre of the card, and as this stamp set is not in photopolymer, I set up my Stamp-a-ma-jig!

My first job was to wipe over the CS with my Embossing Buddy.

Then I positioned my Stamp-a-ma-jig tool where I needed to stamp the sentiment.

I inked my stamp in Versamark, then in Soft Suede Ink and stamped my sentiment in position.

To avoid allowing the ink anytime to dry, I very quickly dunked it into my box of Clear Embossing Powder and then heat set it.

I tried several different arrangements for the pine branches, pinecones and berries and as soon as I was happy, I glued all the pieces in place using Tombow.

Then I adhered this layer to the card base, again using Tombow.

I decided not to add any final steps, like Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen, Dazzling Diamonds or Rhinestones.

To me, this card looks clean, simple and complete!

If you would have added a final step, what would it have been?
