Merry Medley Stockings

Hello, Crafters.

I had a great time yesterday catching up with my daughter and hearing all about her fabulous weekend adventure. She said it was a fantastic experience and she was so pleased she'd done it.

The last climb was Snowdon and this was done in the dry which meant the view they had from the peak was, in Vicki's words, absolutely awesome! Then the heavens opened!

When I made yesterday's Merry Medley card, before I heat embossed the white onto the Dapper Denim, I heat embossed white onto some Copper Foil.

I wasn't very happy with it, which is why I moved onto Dapper Denim. I put the Copper Foil onto one side and forgot about it until I started working on today's card.

I decided to do a similar card to the three stocking card I posted here on 5th September except I'd use the white-embossed Copper Foil.

For the card base, I used Whisper White Cardstock, then a layer of Copper Foil and a top layer of the Whisper White Fancy Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper. I adhered these three together using Tombow.

I used the Christmas Stockings Thinlits Dies and die cut three large plain stockings, the NOEL and three bows from the white white-embossed Copper Foil. I took some plain Copper Foil and die cut three sock heels and three sock toes.

I adhered these to the stockings using Tombow. Then I took some scrap Whisper White Cardstock and die cut three sock tops that had the zig zag edge.

Doing one at a time so the glue didn't dry too quickly, I applied a thick layer of Tombow to the sock top and then sprinkled White Mica Flakes over the glue. I put them to one side to dry.

I love the effect this Mica gives but next time I won't apply the Tombow so thickly, as it took a long time to dry!

I adhered the sock tops to the stockings. Then I took one Glue Dot for each bow, rolled it into a ball and adhered to the back of the bow.

Then I attached the bow to the top of the Sock Top.  I'm really very impressed with this Mica, the effect is superb!

It comes as a pack of three - white, gold and green! See page 41 in the Christmas catalogue.

I adhered the Noel to the card front using Tombow and then the three stockings, also with Tombow. My final touch was to add a Rhinestone to the centre of each of the three bows.

That's about it for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

JanB.
