This morning I uploaded my video which shows how to make an amazingly quick and easy Nail File Gift Wallet! It's a brilliant idea for thank you gifts, teacher gifts, etc.
I may make some to sell at the three Christmas craft shows coming up nearer to Christmas as they'd make super stocking gifts. I shall be sending one of these to all my August online customers.
There is another design I've made, not shown here, so there'll still be an element of surprise for everyone! ☺
The little black ribbon I've used on the two wallets shown here is a retired product that I was using up.
The Sweet Sugarplum ribbon is the new 2016 - 2018 InColour Ruched ribbon, which I find ties into good bows.
I also found when I was making this project, that I achieved much better results if I turned the project upside down, as in still laying on the desk but with the head nearest to me instead of the feet! LOL! It's best to watch the video to see what I mean! Unfortunately, when I made the video, I tied a really beautiful bow and cut the ends off before I realised I hadn't put the nail file in the wallet. Grrr!
So after the video, I had to undo my beautiful bow, insert the nail file and redo the bow. Needless to say it wasn't anywhere near as good the second time, having cut the ends shorter didn't help, either!
The flowers and leaves I've used here are from the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies which I use so much for my projects. To think, I wasn't going to buy this set when it first came out! LOL!The colour I've used here, which is one of the new 2016 - 2018 InColours, is called Sweet Sugarplum. This is definitely my favourite out of the five new InColours.
The FOR YOU is from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies, this is another well used die, especially at Christmas!
Yesterday, I spent my time in my studio working on my special "book markers" that I'm sending to all my customers, together with their new Christmas Catalogue.
I'm keeping the design under wraps but I will say that hubby has been an absolute star and punched out hundreds of the smallest dots from the Owl Builder Punch and also hundreds of the dots in the new Cookie Cutter Punch! I have so much to count my blessings for everyday!
Finally, I just had to share hubby's chillis with you!
This year he bought plants rather than growing from seeds, which has never been particularly successful. It is a bumper crop and we're going to be eating chillis until they come out our ears!
He's already pickled one full jar full and estimates there must be enough still coming for another four or five jars.
Yesterday he tasted one of the pickled chillis and it nearly blew his head off!!
And this is a guy who loves chillis and generally has a Madras curry if we dine out in an Indian restaurant!
The chillis look fantastic and I'm sure they would have been prizewinners at local Flower Shows - maybe next year!
Apparently it's the skinny red ones that are the really hot ones!

Oh, such a funny story about the chillies, but they really and truly are beautiful and how wonderful of you to share his great success story with us too! The nail file wallets are an elegant and wonderfully practical gift and I definitely will be making some! (good stocking stuffers idea too, come to think ...) TFS as always!
