Bunch Of Blossoms Stamp Set

Hello, Crafters.

Yesterday, I finished making all the July Customer Thank You Gifts I need - so far - to be sending out next week. You may remember the July Gift is a Freestanding Post-It Note Holder. I'll now make sure I stay on top of this as new orders come in, so I don't finish up with a last minute panic. Today, I shall be making my July Thank You cards, too!

I had a little bit of time left over to create a card for today and decided to use the Bunch of Blossoms Stamp Set. This is a set I haven't had a play with yet and decided to start with the smallest flower petals. 

For the first attempt I used Blushing Bride Ink for all three steps which didn't create any real level of shading. For the second attempt, I used Flirty Flamingo for the the top outline stamp which I did first. Then I did the third stamp, the all over colour, in Blushing Bride and lastly I used the second stamp, again in Blushing Bride. I was really happy with the result.

There's a coordinating punch for this stamp set call the Blossom Builder Punch.  I stamped my petals horizontally, with the top of the petal pointing to the right, on a 1" strip. This will help to keep the amount of wasted cardstock to a minimum strip.

To make today's card I started with a base of Crumb Cake cardstock, with a layer of Blushing Bride and a top layer of Crumb Cake. I stamped the sentiment from the Rose Wonder Stamp Set at the bottom of the toper using Soft Suede Ink. Then I placed the top layer inside the Petal Burst Embossing Folder, leaving the bottom 1.5" exposed, and cranked it through the Big Shot. 

I wrapped a piece of Soft Suede Ribbon around the join and adhered at the back using SNAIL. I attached the two layers to the card base using Tombow. 

I stamped five petals as described above and punched them out. Using a pencil, I gently curled the petals downwards and attached Glue Dots to the ends. I also punched out a Whisper White circle using the half inch circle punch. Then I attached the petals onto the half inch circle. I stamped the sta flower centre in the same was as I did the flower and adhered it in the centre of the petals using a Glue Dot. I finished off by adding a large Pearl in the centre of the flower. 

A clean, simple card. I wonder what it would look like if I'd curled the petals up rather that down? We'll see! That's about it for today.
