More playtime with Washi Tape

Hello, Crafters.

Apart from writing the instruction sheets for today's three class projects, I'm all prepared and ready to go with today's classes.

We normally make two greeting cards and a 3D project at each class.

Today's going to be a bit different because we'll be making three cards, one of them being a double Z fold, so that will be classed as our 3D project.

I'm really pleased with the Washi Tape card we'll be making, all be it that we'll be using retired Washi Tape.

On Thursday I placed an order that included some Everyday Chic Designer Washi Tape which is made up of black, white and grey/silver.

I'm  99% confident I'll get a very similar effect as I have done with this card - I can't be certain until I actually see it.

I'm not sure if some of the colours will be too dark.

Time will tell and I'll keep you posted with the results.

For today's card I've combined the design from the Melon Mambo Balloon Washi Tape Card I did at training a couple of weeks ago together with the Glitter Tape Wedding card I shared with you recently - see the last two photographs.

I started my card with a Whisper White base, followed by a Silver Foil layer and a top layer of Whisper White.

The three designs of Washi Tape I used were all different widths, which is what I think helps make this card look so attractive.

I adhered the Washi Tape in the same way I did with my two previous cards.

Once I had finished adding the Washi Tape, I adhered the two layers to the card base using Tombow.

Using Basic Grey Ink, I stamped the sentiment from the For The New Two Stamp Set, onto a piece of Whisper White Card Stock and layered it onto a piece of Silver Foil.

Again, I used Tombow to adhere this to the card front.

Using Smokey Slate Ink and Whisper White card stock, I stamped one flower from the Flower Shop Stamp Set and punched it out using the Pansy Punch.

Then I stamped one flower from the Petite Petals Stamp Set and punched that out using the Petite Petals Punch.

Finally, I stamped six flowers from the Pictogram Punches Stamp Set and punched them out using the little flower punch that comes with the Itty Bitty Accent Punch Pack.

I curled all the flower petals and adhered them to the card front, yes, with Tombow, although you could use Glue Dots or Dimensionals if you prefer.

I put an Iced Rhinestone in the centre of the large flower and medium sized Rhinestones in the six small flowers.

While I was working with the Washi Tape I decided to copy the Melon Mambo birthday card but using the Hello Honey design as the main colour.

I like it as much as I like the pink one but I do think it looks far more summery.

I hope you have a great weekend. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
