Hello, Crafters.
Needless to say yesterday was a much better day for me than Tuesday was. I decided I would just concentrate on doing as many of the remaining jobs on my to do list as possible. I'm in a very comfortable position of having just a handful of jobs left - albeit two of them quite big jobs - I'm 99% confident I will have them all done by the end of the day on Friday. My day today will start with a hospital appointment - nothing serious, fortunately - and when I get back my first job will be contacting the people who I met at last week's show and want to know about classes and/or being a demo. I also need to prepare for two classes on Saturday as well as making a video for Sunday.
I made two cards yesterday both of which I'm very happy with how they turned out. The one I am sharing today is a card that I've been wanting to make ever since I first saw the Pedal Pusher Stamp Set. It's one of the three new Sale-A-Bration products that have replaced the three that retired on 15th. February 2016. I started with a base of Whisper White Cardstock with a layer of Hello Honey and a top layer of Whisper White.
I embossed the top layer with the Brick Wall Embossing Folder and sponged all over it using a Dauber and Soft Suede Ink. I adhered this with Tombow to the Hello Honey and then adhered that to the card base.
I put the Hello Honey scalloped trim at the bottom of the brick wall to "ground" the bicycle. The trim was left over when I was die cutting a Hello Honey Berry Basket recently. Using our Basic Black Archival ink, I stamped the image of the bicycle onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I coloured it in using our Cajun Craze and Hello Honey Marker Pens. Then I fussy cut it out. I didn't try to cut out the centre white bits. Instead, I sponged it In the same way I did the brick wall i.e. a Dauber and Soft Suede Ink.
Using Cajun Craze and Hello Honey Ink, I stamped five balloons from the Party Wishes Stamp Set and punched them out with the balloon punch that comes with the Party Punch Pack - these two products are currently available as a bundle. I tied some dark brown sewing thread around each balloon so the tie was facing front. I laid the bicycle face down and put a rolled up Glue Dot on the back of the back saddle. I attached the end of each balloon onto the glue dot making sure the balloons were all in a sensible positions. Then I attached Dimensionals to the back of the Bicycle. I turned the bicycle over and adhered it into position and then arranged the balloons in position, too!
I painted over the balloons with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen. I stamped the sentiment, which is from the Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set called Party Pants and punched it out with the 1.25" Scalloped Circle Punch. Then I layered it onto a 1 3/8 circle punched out of a scrap of Hello Honey Cardstock. I adhered this to the card front using Dimensionals. The glossy hearts are some left overs from those I made for my video called Glossy Hearts last June. I'd made some in each of the five new In-Colours - Cucumber Crush, Delightful Dijon, Mint Macaroon, Tip Top Taupe and Watermelon Wonder - using the Hearts Border Punch. Then I covered them with Crystal Effects and left them to dry overnight.
Although I don't normally go for oranges and yellows I rather like this colour combo - I think it looks sunny! That's about it for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
