Mother's Day Card

Hello, Crafters.

Yesterday was quite a frustrating day as far as using my new computer was concerned. I didn't get into my studio until the evening because I thought I'd do all the jobs I needed to do in my office so I could identify any bits that weren't working quite right!

I finished with a list of 7 problems for hubby to look into during the evening. A lot of the items were quick to remedy, like my Dymo not being connected, a document has transferred over but it wasn't the latest version and four of my photograph folders were missing from Picasa.

This morning I found another document hadn't transferred over the latest version. I've updated it manually but what I am a bit concerned about is how many other documents have a similar problem?

I'm hoping it's only these two documents that have been affected because I keep them on my desktop. I have no idea why that should be but..................oh well, not to worry, hubby's the expert in our house when it comes to technology!!

The card I'm sharing with you today is a Mother's Day card I made for a very good customer of mine who just asked for a card with flowers.

It's always a pleasure making cards for this customer because she is very brief in her requests which gives me a lot of freedom to be creative - many thanks, Carol!

At the time I was making the rose card with the scalloped ovals I'd found in my Pink Pirouette folder - please see last photograph - so I used this as my inspiration.

I changed the layering slightly so I started with the Pink Pirouette Scalloped Oval with a layer of Tip Top Taupe.

I used my (retired) oval paper piercing templates to punch holes around these two layers.

I did the top oval the same way as previously.

I used a Whisper White Card Base with a layer of Tip Top Taupe and then a layer of the (retired) Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper.

I adhered the top two layers together, then tied some Tip Top Taupe Dotted lace Trim round this and adhered it to the card base.

Then I added the oval to the centre of the card.

Using Pink Pirouette Ink I stamped one large flower from the Flower Shop Stamp Shop onto Pink Pirouette Cardstock and one on Whisper White for the inside and punched them out using the Pansy Punch.

Then using the same ink and the Petite Petals Stamp Set, I stamped one flower onto Whisper White Cardstock and then five onto Pink Pirouette (one for the inside of the card).

I punched them out using the Petite petals punch.

Finally, I stamped five flowers from the Pictogram Punches Stamp Set onto Whisper White Cardstock (again, one for the inside).

I punched these out using the flower punch that comes in the Itty Bitty Accent Punch Pack.

I adhered the flowers together as shown and adhered them to the top of the oval.

Finally I added a Rhinestone to all the outside flowers.

I don't normally do much for the inside of cards but I decided I would on this occasion.

I embossed a sheet of Tip Top Taupe using the Honeycomb Embossing Folder.

I adhered this to he inside of the card and added the same two bottom ovals as there are on the front.

Finally, I added the last flower.

On the odd occasion when I do embellish the insides of my cards, I never use Dimensionals or Rhinestones, Pearls, etc.

I know Mother's Day has been and gone here in the UK but it's still on it's way around the world.

This card would be equally ideal for  a wedding card or a birthday card for someone special.
