Drinking Chocolate Surprise

Hello, Crafters.

If you've visited my blog everyday this week you'll know it's really been a full-on week for me. The good news is, I've survived and I'm still smiling! ☺

I've achieved 98% of everything I wanted to get done this week despite the obstacles I've been presented with, so I'm not complaining.

I have two classes today and the only thing I need to do are the instruction sheets for our three  projects, which I'm pretty confident I'll be able to get done..............no doubt by the skin of my teeth! LOL!

For the 3D project, I decided we'd make a pull up box - well, packet really! - to hold a drinking chocolate sachet. I love a mug of this at bedtime during the winter.

I went through all my Designer Series Paper to find a colour match for the sachet and found some retired Concord Crush that fitted the bill brilliantly. This was one of the in-colours from 2010 - 2012!

It was in the pad next to the Pear Pizzazz - which was also an In-colour at that time - and I thought the two colours together looked superb. The colour combo was decided.
 
Then I looked to see what the other three In-Colours were and saw that Blushing Bride was one of them.

I joined Stampin' Up! in 2012 so I retrieved my first annual catalogue to see what were the other In-Colours available when I joined.

I was really surprised to see Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder and Island Indigo were 2011 - 2013 In-Colours. Therefore, out of the ten In-Colours available when I first became a demo, six of them are now standard colours.

So where am I going with this.......?

By my calculations, since these ten In-Colours, there have been another twenty-five In-Colours including 2015 - 2017. I wonder what old In-Colours, if any, Stampin' Up! will bring back in the next big colour shuffle (which happens every five years or so, apparently)?

The moral of the story is, hold onto your retired colour products, just in case they're resurrected!

Anyway, back to my 3D project.

I made a video a little while ago showing how to make these pull-ups and also how to calculate the size cardstock you need for the goodie you want to put inside. This is the link: Chocolate Pull-Up Box - it really is amazingly easy.

For the sentiment I used the Amazing Birthday Stamp Set and stamped the Surprise in Concord Crush Ink, then punched it out using the 1.25" Circle Punch. I curled it slightly with a pencil and adhered it to the front of the packet with Tombow.

Then I  stamped the It's For You in Pear Pizzazz Ink and punched it out using the 0.75" Circle Punch. This was adhered to the packet with a Dimensional.

I used the Petal Petals and Pictogram Punches Stamp Sets for the flowers and the trim was the retired Concord Crush 0.5" Stitched-Poly Ribbon. 

I think that's about it for today. I'm now going to do the three instruction sheets - hopefully before the first lesson starts at 10 am! I'll let you know tomorrow if I made it.
