Masculine Collar Fold Card & Vellum Flowers Video

Hello, Crafters.

Earlier this morning I posted my video called Botanical Vellum Flowers. It shows how I made the card I posted here last Wednesday - please see last photograph.

Recently I've seen a number of cards  featuring the collar fold but they have all been sideways and feminine.

I decided to turn it on its head and turn the card sideways - so the collar is straight - and make it masculine!  I'm really pleased with the result and will make a video to show how I did the cutting and folding for the collar.

I started with a base of Lost Lagoon Cardstock, with a layer of Whisper White and adhered them together with Tombow.

For the collar, I chose a design from the Going Places Designer Series Paper (DSP) Stack.

You can choose any design for this style of card as long as the back and front are two designs you like seeing together.

I folded the collar and marked the area on the Whisper White Layer where I could stamp Happy Birthday. This sentiment is from the You're So Lovely Stamp Set and is stamped in Lost Lagoon Ink. I adhered the collar to the Whisper White Layer using Tombow.

I cut a half inch wide strip of the DSP and adhered it with the reverse side facing up about 1 1/4" from the bottom.

I stamped the car from the Guy Greetings Stamp Set onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock using Crumb Cake Ink.

I die cut it with the second die from the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies. I also die cut a piece of Lost Lagoon Cardstock using the number 3 die. I pierced the holes around this using a retired paper piercing template form Stampin' Up! I adhered the two layers together and then attached to the card with Dimensionals.

This is such a quick and easy card to make and I think it looks equally as good sideways as it does straight. Equally, I think the layout can be used for feminine and masculine cards - a very successful experiment all round!

I wish you a very happy Sunday. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

JanB.

  1. Hi Jan,
Would it be possible for you to do a video on how to make this collar card. I search you tube, but all I can find is shirt cards with collars. I would love to make a card like this for one of my sons, or my hubby for say Father's Day...Thx, Ann
