Make It Day 1 - Success!

Hello crafters.

It was a long day yesterday but very successful!

My sales were good, there was a good interest in my classes and people were interested in joining my team.

It was the same story from Pip, Fiona and Jane.

During the show Natalie runs classes which have to be pre-booked which means she doesn't get as much opportunity as we do to talk to visitors.

The interesting thing about the sales, it wasn't for the berry basket that I was demo'ing totally unrelated products.

I love doing shows because I love to talk to people and I find that cardmakers are amongst the friendliest people ever!

The berry basket with a lid that I'm sharing with you today, help me sell a Botanicals Garden Bundle to one really delightful lady because she could actually see the results of using the dies.

I think Stampin' Up produce brilliant catalogues packed full of good ideas but nothing actually beats seeing items produced by products in the flesh, so to speak! LOL!

The berry basket shown actually has a lid, but because the berry basket is tapered,  the lid "sits" there rather than fits.

Nonetheless, it still looks absolutely superb.

I wove some of our Satin White Ribbin around the base and tied individual bows which I adhered to the box with Glue Dots.

During the show I had a lot of interest in the baskets, especially the ones that I had made larger and/or slimmer than the actual die but, even with the show discount, nobody wanted to buy.

I started my demo half an hour after opening - was it too early for visitors to start spending.

I know when I go to shows, or clothes shopping, I don't like to buy the first thing I see!

One of my sales was the Botanical Gardens Bundle and it was this basket that help to close the sale!

The two ladies I was talking to found it re-assuring to see that the stamp set and the dies were actually the same size.

The confusion was caused because the photographs in the catalogue weren't to scale and the dies look really small!

Today's the second and last day of the show, so I'm off now - not in so much of a rush yesterday! LOL!

I hope you have a fantastic weekend. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

JanB.
