Hello, Crafters.
Yesterday I decided I wanted to make a card using the leaves and flowers that are in the Grateful Bunch Stamp Set but I didn't get any further than the butterfly!
I knew it was there but hadn't really looked at it properly.
When I did have a good look at it, I knew the image was absolutely perfect for painting the stamp with markers - one of my favourite techniques.
My original idea was to use Pool Party and Whisper White but that wouldn't work with my new idea.
The marker pens I chose were Mint Macaroon for the lower section of wings, Crumb Cake for the inner part of the upper wings, Lost Lagoon on the outside upper wings and Basic Black for the body and antennae.
I did three butterflies and stamped each one at a different angle on a square of Whisper White Cardstock.
I adhered these to a larger Pool Party square, and this onto an even larger square of Crumb Cake.
I started my card with a base of Crumb Cake Cardstock, with a layer of Pool Party and a top layer of Whisper White.
Using Pool Party Ink, I stamped the leafy stamp from the Grateful Bunch Stamp Set randomly on the top layer.
I adhered this layer to the Pool Party layer using Tombow.
I wrapped some (retired) Crumb Cake Ribbon around the top left hand corner and the bottom right hand corner, securing it at the back with SNAIL.
(The current Crumb Cake ribbon is 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon 138428 and is on page159 in the catalogue).
I used Tombow to attach this layer to the card base making sure I applied Tombow over the ends of the ribbons.
Then I tied a freehand bow and attached it to the top ribbon with Glue Dots.
I adhered the butterflies to the card with Dimensionals in a random fashion!
I chose the sentiment You Are Made Of Wonderful which is from Picture Perfect Stamp Set.
Like the butterfly, I painted the stamp using marker pens - Crumb Cake for the top line and Lost Lagoon for Wonderful.
I punched it out using the Washi Tape Punch and I also punched out one in Pool Party and one in Crumb Cake.
I cut these two in half and layered them behind the sentiment using Tombow.
I added Dimensionals and adhered it between two butterflies on the card front.
I hope you have a super relaxing weekend. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
All I can say is, It's beautiful x

DeleteReally lovely, as always, Jan. You do such a great job of your colouring both with using the marker pens to paint focal images, and with choosing your colours to put together on a card project. This is no exception! Very successfully executed! : -)
