Three Hearts Valentine Video

Yesterday I enjoyed the online course I was doing and caught up with everything by the time I went to bed last night.

While I was watching and listening I was making my swaps for today's training. Although they were simple swaps it took me hours to do them as I was concentrating so much on the course. The only time I made any real progress with them was when I was watching the card making tutorials!

I'm going to make a video of my swaps tomorrow and will share them with you on Wednesday.

Today I've posted my video called Three Hearts Valentine Card. Although it's a very simple card, it's also a very striking card.

I started with a card base of Whisper White Cardstock, then a layer of Real Read, and a top layer of Whisper White.

Although the card requires three hearts to be cut out of the top layer, I still use an extra piece of Whisper White for the stamped and heat-embossed hearts.

The two reasons for this are, firstly that, once the hearts are punched out of the top layer, the stamped hearts have to be absolutely spot on and secondly, it's easier to dip a scrap of stamped cardstock straight into the embossing powder before the ink dries - there's so much unstamped area to hold by and dunk. I hope this makes sense.

I used two new stamp sets that are available in the new Spring catalogue. The heart is from the First Sight Stamp Set and the sentiment is from Bloomin' Love Stamp Set. The heart punch is called Sweetheart punch.

Although we don't sell red embossing powder, all the stamping on this card has been heat embossed with Real Red Ink and Clear Embossing Powder.

Although I'd heard about this technique a long time ago, I tried for the first time fairly recently.....................and I love it! As long as your ink pads are really juicy, you can heat emboss in any colour.
