Snow Place No. 3 & Today's Craft Fair

Hello, Crafters.

Today, I'm doing my last craft show for this year. It's the annual Christmas Gift & Shopping Event at the Pavilion Café, which is in the heart of the beautiful Beddington Park. I did the first fair here when it launched in 2013 and it was such an amazingly friendly and successful event.

I booked to do the event last year but wasn't able to do it as I was ill with a chest infection. So I'm really looking forward to today. It starts at 4pm until 8pm.

This is yesterday's Snow Place challenge card. I'd seen the igloo idea but put my own spin on it. I wasn't sure if the tunnel entrance should be an oval or more circular. I tried both but decided I preferred the oval look.

I started my card with a base of Soft Sky Card Stock with a layer of Whisper White and a layer of snowflake design from the Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum. Using die no. 7 from the Circles Collection Framelits, I die cut a circle from Whisper White Card Stock.

I embossed it using the Brick Wall Embossing Folder. For the tunnel I used the Extra Large Oval Punch in Whisper White and the Large Oval Punch in Basic Black. I accentuated the brick work using my Two-Way Glue Pen and Dazzling Diamonds. I did the same with Dazzling Diamonds to the outer wall of the tunnel. I adhered both pieces to the card base using Tombow.

I stamped the penguin from the Snow Place Stamp Set onto Whisper White using Basic Black Archival Ink and fussy cut him out. I coloured his beak and feet using the Pumpkin Pie Marker Pen and added Dazzling Diamonds down each side of his body where there are shadow marks. I attached him with Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the Christmas Cuties Stamp Set in Versamark and heat embossed using Silver Embossing Powder. I punched it out using the Large Oval Punch and added Dazzling Diamonds around the edge before adhering to the card front with Dimensionals.

Before I added the white and vellum layers to the card base, I tied some Pool Party Seam Binding around in a bow. Unfortunately this is a retired product so if you don't have any in your stash, you could use the Whisper White Seam Binding or the 1/4" Pool Party Cotton Ribbon.

I didn't add any scarf or hat to the penguin. I decided on this occasion he could look l'naturele!

If you're local to the Beddington Park area today, do pop into the Pavilion Café Christmas Shopping Event and say hello - it'd be great to see you.

Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

JanB.
