Hello, Crafters.
The Challenge is back! YAY!
It wasn't until I started working on this week's challenge that I realised how much I enjoyed doing it and how much I'd missed it!
Yesterday I decided I'd use the Snow Place Stamp Set. I keep thinking about the melting snowman that was on the swap board at Convention - I thought it was such a brilliant idea. Unfortunately, I still don't have the dies that go with this set so I have to fussy cut.
I knew I wanted either the snowman or the penguin juggling with snowballs and I knew I wanted a sentiment spelt out on snowballs.
I did consider just jumbling the three letters up but I decided against that idea because I reminded myself that I'm making a Christmas card not a puzzle book! LOL!!
I started my card with a base of Whisper White Card Stock with a layer of Lost Lagoon. I punched all four corners using the Curvy Corner Trio Punch and adhered to the card base using Tombow.
I cut an oval of Whisper White Card Stock using the no. 5 die from the Ovals Collection Framelits. I took some scraps of Whisper White and tore some rough edges and adhered them to the oval using Tombow. Working from the back of the oval, I trimmed off the pieces that were outside the oval. Then, using my Two Way Glue Pen, I applied some glue around the outside of the oval and on the torn edges, and then sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds. Then I attached the oval to the card base using Tombow.
I stamped the snowman using Basic Black Archival Ink, the scarf using Lost Lagoon ink, the stick arms using Chocolate Chip ink..........all on Whisper White Card Stock and fussy cut them all out. I coloured the carrot nose using the Pumpkin Pie Marker Pen and adhered the scarf using Tombow. Then, using my Two Way Glue Pen, I applied some glue around the outside of the snowman and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds. I adhered the snowman to the oval using Dimensionals and used Tombow to attach the stick arms to the oval just under the snowman's body.
I used the Alphabet Rotary Stamp on Whisper White Card Stock using Chocolate Ink to stamp the letters JOY. I punched them out with a 3/8" punch (now retired). I also punched out two blank circles and 5 x 1/2" circles from the Dazzling Diamond Glimmer Paper. I adhered the small circles to the larger circles using Glue Dots. Using Dimensionals I adhered the two snowballs with plain circle in either hand and then spaced the three letters to form curve of snowballs going over the snowman's head.
Finally, I stamped Let It Snow onto Whisper White Card Stock using Chocolate Chip Ink and punched it out with the Washi Tape punch. I also punched out another shape in Whisper White and one in Lost Lagoon. I trimmed them both down and layered at either end of the sentiment. I painted round the edge with the Two Way glue pen and dipped into the Dazzling Diamonds. Then I adhered the sentiment to the card base using Dimensionals.
I have one or two ideas for more fun cards this week with the brilliant Stamp Set! Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
